Good morning everyone, and a cold and frosty morning it is.

Numtpy - must have been freezing when you surfaced even at a more respectable 6 o'clock.

Hope everyone has a good Friday.

Good morning all, mulberry bush weather indeed. Made a Twelfth Night cake the other day, courtesy of Mr G Rhodes cookbook. Similiar to Christmas cake but a bit lighter and only takes an hour to cook (and less time to eat I would think). Will still be feeding it with brandy now and then though, and will chuck marzipan and glace cherries on top to finish. Like the idea of a Yule log though, but OH has gone off chocolate (sacrilege indeed!) so will have to force myself and the sprog to eat it all if I make one......oh the suffering we have to go through!

Just popped in for a quick 'pre-trundle' bump. :hello: :hello:

Have just been dragged, protesting, around ASDA for our 'normal' shop. I absolutely hate supermarkets at this time of year
It makes it even worse when all the staff keep saying 'Hi Rog - not working today?'

I will, hopefully, be finished before 11.30 tonight, but based on the last few 'evenings' there is no guarantee of that.

I'm beginning to wonder if I'm really cut out to be a Home Shopping Delivery Driver. :rotfl: :rotfl:

Keep warm everyone (except the trolls, who can freeze to death as far as I am concerned)

    Hello again fellow bumpers,
Nargle - who are you feeding the brandy to, isn't the cake just an excuse (Xmas cakes usually are in my experience!). Hope you enjoy it nonetheless! OH going off chocolate is definitely a bonus - more Yule log for you, sounds good to me!!!
Numpty - it's still frosty now - think that's it for the day. Hope you're OK?
Rog - I really don't envy you the double-whammy of being dragged around the shop this morning and having to do the deliveries this evening. Hope you manage to survive with your sanity intact.

Hope everyone else is OK (except the trolls, of course).

Never mind Rog, stick some fairy lights round your van, put on your Santa suit and your Elf and Safety shoes and pretend it's Christmas!

Afternoon all..I am feeling rather chuffed with myself today as I managed to save myself £264.50:cool: £233.50 was saved on posh clothes (Lula will smack my legs for spending the same amount on clothes so I shall plead...everything was half price and it co-ordinates with the other stuff in my wardrobe:o) and I saved a fair bit in Borders Books getting £75 worth of books for £43.00 - 2 books for me and 3 large hardbacks are pressies.

The fog has only just lifted here - its been thick all day...also have a spring in my step after seeing my favourite bus driver who wanted me to stand and chat but my feet were killing me (its these new riding boots) and anyway I kinda figured that the bus would fill up.

Best do some work I guess seeing as I have skived off all day:rolleyes:

    See y'all later. xx

What is a Troll? A troll is a person that posts deliberately provocative, nasty or hurtful comments on threads. They may be a person with no previous connection to the board or someone that has created a pseudonym to get their point made.

If you should get a comment made on any thread you post asking for help and advice please realise this comment is not directed at you personally.
We really are all a lovely bunch here (oops, modest, sorry) so please ignore these nasty comments and continue to post here as normal.

what should i do if i get a comment made on my thread?

firstly do not respond to the comment as this invariably is what the person wants. At the bottom of the post, on the left hand side is a red "warning" triangle. Click this and then "send" the message that comes up. This will report the message to abuse who will review it's content and delete it.

The person we had this morning was particularly vile and nasty and please believe me is an extreme rarity here.
Above all PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE THE BOARDS. THIS SITE IS AN ASSET TO SO MANY, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT FEELS THE WORLD IS FALLING IN ON YOU. THERE IS SUCH A WEALTH OF ADVICE HERE TO BE HAD THAT THE COMMENTS OF ONE MUST NOT DETER YOU FROM AVAILING YOURSELF OF THE KNOWLEDGE HERE!!!!

It is testament to the work that martin has done and continues to do that so many people give their time knowledge and experience freely to others, without judgement, to lift people out of the depths of debt crisis

PLEASE DO NOT LET THE ACTIONS OF THE MINORITY RUIN THAT.

    Kind wishes
