What has the council got to do with JSA

    Council/benefits service/government...,
I just class them all as the same thing.

Since if you are unemployed you will have to get jsa if you want to get housing benefit.

You do not have to claim JSA to claim HB/LHA.

There are plenty of HB/LHA claimants who are unemployed who do not receive LHA.

WHen i checked when i had to claim benefits for abit back when i was unemployed they said they only pay you lha/housing benefit if you are are jsa. (Or disability ones.. ect)

But if you are able-bodied and unemployed they wont just pay you housing benefit unless you also start going to the job centre to sign on, as it proves you are actively seeking work so that you will then be able to get off requiring the housing benefit.

(You could turn down the £50 per week jsa money if you wanted, but you still ahve to be signing on though)

Home-maker is just one of those silly 'politically correctness' invented words. :rotfl:

You aren't ''building or making a home''.

The home is there, you your husband and kids live in it, and so the normal things that people have to do to live everyday live and survive.

If you went and got a job, just like millions and millions of other mothers do, your home would still function fine and keep going,
just like the millions of others manage to.

And you may not be ''taking that specific benefit'' out of the fund,
but you are taking other benefits out,
And yet ''YOU arent paying anything into that fund which YOU take benefits out of''. :o

That is not correct. Although not common people can and do claim HB/LHA without claiming JSA.
