Now, if anyone else wants a stern talking to just holler;):)

O'er that's a bit kinky for the thread! Save that for the chat-line :rotfl::rotfl:

Hey Princess, I agree with everyone else, you should tell your mum, can only imagine how hard it will be but you will find a way of doing it. Don't make any apologies about wanting to meet your dad, you've got his genes too. I'd give anything to have my dad back, and if yours turns out to be a rotter, get rid, if not then you've the right to get to know him.

    Oooh nice shoes!

Well going out tomorrow night and tried on my size 10 skinny jeans - they fit! All be it a teensy bit tight but the top I'm wearing will disguise the fat that has been pushed over the waistband :rotfl::rotfl:
  • hi everyone - just having a quick catch-up.

Felt I had to wade in - Princess - you didn't create this situation. Things are bound to be a bit awkward, it's only in made for tv films that daughter meets long lost dad and, wow - they bond immediately. In real life you don't know each other, you've got years missing and quite a lot of other people's deception to get over. You perhaps need to give it a bit of time and perspective, and then see how you feel. I think you do need to tell your mum (and I realise that the idea probably fills you with horror, and you'd rather gauge your eyes out!), because I get the impression that however difficult and unpleasent telling her may be, it can't be much worse than you're feeling now. Also, whether you do tell your mother or not, it's already affecting your relationship with her. How will you feel in a few years time, if you ignore your dad when you know that you could (?) have a chance at having both your parents in your life? Can you be sure that you won't resent your mum for it?

Anyway, sorry - I've gone on a bit. I don't really mean to lecture (honest), but reading your posts I'm really afraid that you're going to sacrifice your happiness just to prevent your mum getting upset. Sometimes those sort of arguments need to happen so that you can live your life. While I totally understand not wanting to rock the boat with your mum, you also have a responsibility to yourself. (I'm really going to shut up now).
;) Working hard in the hopes of being 'lucky' ;)

Yeah- my first reaction was ' I hate you, you skinny moo' but I was restrained and held it in... whoops  :rotfl:

I will be happy when I get back into a pair of size 12 jeans I have in my drawer upstairs. Mind you... they are a tight pair of size 12's! :p

    Ruby
    Robsmum
    Ebs
    Laura
    Tilly
    Swinstie
    Monkey
    Rosered

When everyone has read it we can have a little chin wag about it and then the last person to read the book sends it back to the owner (or gives it away to a charity shop or whatever the owner would prefer!) The next person on the list (in this case Ruby) will pick the next book and then go to the bottom of the list.. Does that make sense?!

I have dug out the book club!

Ebs currently has 'We need to talk about Kevin'- the first book. I think we should start circulating book 2 otherwise those who have just finished may be waiting aaaaggggesss for the next book! :p

At least, we should when Ruby comes back 'cos it's her turn to pick :D

Does that sound ok to everyone?

Does anybody else want to go on the list??

I'm already trying to think of what book I might pick :rotfl:
