Hi,
Please can you put me down for £100 please
Thanks0 -
Can you please put me down for £180 hoping to keep within budget this month as kids are now back at school.0
-
First spend of the month today - £2.70 in Wilkinsons:
£0.64 Ibuprofen x 2
£0.64 Heinz baked beans (1 tin for dinner, because we'd run out)
£0.97 Hartleys Strawberry Jam
£0.45 Tin plum tomatoes (again, because we'd run out)
Stupid how you can do a mega shop in Tesco and still forget to buy basics like baked beans and tinned tomatoes! Though admittedly we haven't been having beans a lot, so I didn't realise we hadn't any left!I'm broke, not poor. Poor sounds permanent, broke can be fixed. (Thoroughly Modern Millie)

Well looking through the posts we all seem to be doing very well. I only buy the t.v. magazine once a week for 40p, and read the rest of my news online ,saves lots of left over papers and cash as well. I include everything in my spending amount and have at the moment a great stock of hotel freebies soap, shampoo, shower stuff that someone gave me when they were having a clear out. Sainsburys basic Shampoo is only 28p for a huge bottle, and its very good, does what it says on the bottle, cleans hair beautifully, even their basic conditioner is pretty good and saves quite a lot .Now and again I give my hair a quick rinse with white vinegar and that gives it a good shine ,good rinse afterwards will get rid of the very slight smell.Loo rolls I try to shop around for and find that the really cheapo ones aren't that good but usually manage to get something reasonable for a couple of quid .I rarely buy the Andrex ones as I think they are vastly overpriced and you are paying for the sweet little adverts on T.V. A fiver for toilet rolls I don't think so.0

So I get 16 rolls for just under a fiver, and reckon I've enough in at the moment to last us to the end of the year
I noticed last week this offer is on again, so am actually debating picking up another pack (if it's still on when I'm next in) to get us through the first couple of months of 2010 :rolleyes2
I really MUST sort my freezers while my GDs are at school today - 3rd of the month, and I've still not sorted out a meal plan  I pulled some individual Mr M Chicken & Veg pies out of the freezer last night (served up with mash, veg & gravy) and they were gorgeous. The pies should have been almost £1.50 each, which is waaaaay more than I could afford (other than as a very special treat), but they were that nice that I'd consider picking up a couple if I ever see them on BOGOF (even though that's still officially more than I should spend on the 'meat' part of our meals). The two I had in the freezer cost me the princely sum of 9p each in clearance a couple of weeks ago, and they're certainly something I'm going to watch for in the future :T
Got to go to A!di for milk this morning (and looking out the window I'll get soaked in the process), so will pick up spuds while I'm there in an attempt to keep tomorrow as an NSD (not many left after making mash last night). If I'm careful (and buy 4 milks instead of my normal 3) I might even manage until Sunday before 'wandering down the road' again, but will be desperately trying to last until Monday.Cheryl0 -
Total for September is $600 for two adults and one cat
Spent $19.60 so far.
600ml diet coke $3.15 (drank whilst shopping)
Chicken $7.92
1kg basmati rice $4.50
1 onion $0.60
95gram tin of tuna $1.85
6 pack of crumpets $1.00
1 loose brown bread roll $0.60
As we still dont have a fridge or all our belongings so shopping / cooking is difficult. I have to buy small tins of tuna and single bread rolls daily for work lunches as they wont keep.
Im making chicken curry with rice tonight (sauce from storecupboard), crumpets are for breakfast and tuna roll is for lunch tomorrow. Not great value for money but its they only way we can do things right now, hopefully not for much longer though.
I was going to work my budget out payday to payday (15th of the month) but in a bid to budget better im going to do it month by month.
I know $600 per month seems a lot but im still restocking my store cupboard following our move.
Good luck eveyone,
