I've gone well over, but I needed a few bits that i'd run out of at the same time, so although i've added them to this month, they'll last well into next month and/or longer.

I ended up buying kitchen and toilet rolls, shampoo, conditioner, body spray and toothpaste, so the only food items I bought were flour, sugar, spread, onions, crackers and some radishes (I still don't know why and what i'll use them for). Oh and some strawberries, a lemon and some KitKats :o I also went out for a chinese with my brother and sister last night which I haven't included in my total, but if I had, then it would be £75.82

Not very good for my first attempt, but I suppose it was just a guess.

I may as well declare now for September, so will round it up to £65.00 so I have a bit to get newspapers with as shouldn't need anything else.

For October I think i'll put it up to £60.00 and see how I get on!

Well, the signature says it all - a complete and utter failure this month...I'm declaring at £81.77, only 63% over budget !

Got to get back on track - will try for £50 for October.

GC for OH, myself, DD18 & DD16 includes Toiletries, cleaning stuff & Food.

  • I'm declaring £47.44 for September. Went a little over but that's only because I stocked up on a few essentials that were on offer but I hadn't planned on buying this month.

My target for October is £45 again.

Spent £1.50 at Lid1 this morning, but felt I did really well for that.

Had hoped they still had the 2.5kg potatoes for 49p (that I got last week), but not so :( I did, however, spot a 1kg bag of Little Red Rooster potatoes for just 29p - so we're having those tonight, and I have some left to go with my steak & kidney (stew type) on Wednesday when DS has curry & rice. Wondering if I dare try sneaking instant potato past DS on Tuesday (with mash and veg), otherwise I'm going to have to buy some mashing spuds before the end of the month.......

We're also having "real" veg tonight, which is bound to get a comment of some sort from DS. I can't remember the last time I cooked veg from fresh for a meal (have blanched some for the freezer this year, but cook everything from frozen for meals), but when I spotted the Savoy Cabbage at just 34p (one of our all time favourites) and the 1kg bag of carrots at 37p I decided to keep the planned peas, sweetcorn, diced carrots and sprouts for another day ;)

Finished the trip off with 2 sachets of Chille Con Carne mix at 25p each.

Exactly £58 spent so far this month - 77 hours to go before I can declare my month spend, and really want to stay away from the shops in an effot to not spend more than another £3.76
