however, i expect it does coincide with the spreading knowledge/ experience of how much cb, ctc, wtc, child trust fund, £500 maternity grant, £180 healthy eating pregnancy grant etc, etc actually adds up to
ill stick my neck out to get flamed looking back, if there were no help available at all, i probably wouldnt have had my last one (2007)..... actually, i may not have had any :rotfl: looking back, if there were no help available at all, i probably wouldnt have had my last one (2007)..... actually, i may not have had any :rotfl:
not that any of the hand outs were part of any concious decision, but i think the culture of everyone being 'ok'- no-one in poverty- filters through to societys unconcious- since labour came to power there has been an increasing sense of security i think (funnily enough probably peaking around 2007/08 ), no matter what choices you make in life iyswim, you will be seen alright We cannot change anything unless we accept it. Blimey.....you get all that now? (not you personally, pregnant woman in general).
There was no CTC, child trust fund, maternity grants, healthy eating grants etc when I had mine, there was family credit but we earnt too much for it anyway....we had children because well, the first one was an accident and a surprise, the second one to see if we could work the magic again (it was supposedly a million to one shot for me to get pregnant) and the last one was a complete an utter surprise (and one that was not particularly wanted at the time as middle son's problems were becoming known).
What we could get for them never entered our heads. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0

See post 5.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

 It shouldn't need explaining.
You can buy a 3 bed house in the UK for £35K, £350K, or £3.5 million.
There is clearly a shortage of houses in areas where people want to live, of the types they want, and where employment exists to support them.
There is no other explanation for such a pricing differential for similar units of housing.
Obviously, there will be some areas with a surplus of supply. And some areas with a shortage. If the areas with a shortage outnumber the areas with a surplus, then national average prices will rise.
Simples.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”
