No, i dont expect something for nothing - maybe should have explained a little more. When we arrived they had failed to paint the long balcony at the hotel where our guests were congregating to be served champagne and where we were getting our photos taken. Since we got our photos back we have been quite annoyed - the background looks terribel and shabby

This hotel is part of a large 4/5 star chain, with facilities worldwide. So, to be honest, i grudge paying the extra!!
So did you inspect the place beforehand? Did you point out the balcony and did they agree to paint it?

  • Yes Shadow - we visited on a number of occasions and were assured the balcony would be painted as it was part of the refurbishment of the hotel. Therefore, morally and ethically, they assured me that the issue would be resolved to my satisfaction - however, they failed to fulfill this 'agreement' and keep their end of the deal.

Listen everyone - all I want is the 'legal answer', am I obliged to pay the £100 pound which was itemised in my invoice but not included in the total.

did they give you a date as to when it would be painted?

  • Verbally - yes, they gave us several assurances it would be painted for the wedding - that was until they called the day before, a week after I had paid the invoice.

so you paid the invoice before you had your wedding?

  • Yes - you had to pay the wedding in full 7 days before the wedding date. The invoice listed the various items such as meal, drinks package, room, etc, etc. I left it as late as I could to pay it because I wasnt happy about forking out such a large sum of cash without things being perfect - however, in the end I had no option but to pay.
