    You're all ace :D

Have worked out budget. January is going to be :eek::eek: and February will be a bit :eek: but I think I don't pay Council Tax then so may only be . By March I should be in credit with savings and have something there without going into the negative.

Lol @ your  rating system for how bad the months will be - hopefully most of them will only be 1x:eek: before long! :) x

  • Hey, back from a weekend away and catching up on the forums. Good to know I won't be the only one not paying off much at all in December. Bring on the new year! Well done for running in this weather, I didn't want to leave the house at all!
Good luck with getting through the month!
    x
  • Oooh I feel so reassured now :) Really looking at a very very very low (if at al) repayment month and was going to berate myself for not paying off £1200 as per in other months but will give myself a break now!

Dilemma of the week is - do I open my £2 tin now as needs must or stay strong and leave it  Says it can hold up to £500 in £1 coins so no idea how much it takes in £2 coins and is half full. Don't want to open it and be disappointed but also it is just sat there tempting me...........what to do, what to do.......

OH won £10 on BB and I won £2.50 but so as not to appear to be a bonus blagger I put the £2.50 back on and won zilch - but thought I didn't want to look too dodgy all the time!

Did my xmas shoppping list last night and going out tonight to get it all done and dusted as I hate doing it!

will hold 250 of 2 pound coins cos they are bigger or double the pound coins it will hold. If u can't live without using the tinn use it otherwise step away lol x

  • I'm not really sure what it's for :o We had no purpose, we bought a tin and obsessively collect £2 coins and become mentally distressed when we see friends paying for things with £2 COINS!!!!!!!! I have been known to exchange them if friends try to pay with them in restaurants

Just thought, we are a bit short, shall we use it but in a real quandry.

Have been good and naughty at lunchtime. I have two silver watches with broken straps and moaning on to OH that I need another watch. I have promptly gone to Timpsons this afternoon who are repairing both for £10 :j as they are worth about £100 each - very MSE of me I think. Going to Greggs for a pastie and cake is not very MSE however, especially when I have brought my dinner in and already eaten it :eek::eek:

I have however entered a 12 mile fell race in march so I can run the fat off then :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Hi IMD. I'm not really sure I understand the logic of the £2 jar. If you are in debt why are you sitting on cash? Add it to your wages and stop saving £2 coins, if you have excess £2 coins surely it's just bad budgeting? Of course I can see the incentive of saving them, but to me it's dead money, get it working somewhere, if christmas isn't a good enough justification, use it to pay for some of the car bill.

As to saving for motoring costs, I worked out roughly what mine costs per year and I put a twelfth of it each month into a savings account (very easy with an IF account) It never really builds up much as I always have an MOT , insurance renewal or service coming up, I've managed to space them out over the year. Saves a lot of worry and you don't pay interest on monthly insurance premium payments.

IMD - I gave up saving £2 coins when I was at £12 or so because for me it didn't make sense.

Rather than having a :eek::eek: month why don't you use the jars contents to help you stay within your means.....

    good luck!
