Customers who have brought a phone on O2 network. I need help plz

Do you know if a phone that comes with O2 network, will it always a locked or unlocked handset?

I was wondering if you could share your experiences along with the handset you used. Thanks

I have a Nokia 2600 with I got from CPW on O2, but I dont know if its unlocked. I only have just 1 sim (my o2 sim) so I cant even try other sims.

Generally suniil is right, but it is not always the case nowadays - IIRC the 6280 was mentioned as locked & I fear that the phone I want will be locked (XDA Exec).

I unlocked a Nokia on O2 contract recently - use the trycktill site, or ask on the pinned thread here

AFAIK XDA's come locked on o2, contract or PAYG, because its an o2 branded phone

I got an O2 Exec on O2 contract in last December. It came unlocked.

Every phone I have ever had on an O2 contract has been unlocked.

Can you not borrow sim cards from your mates to check?

My xdas (xda and xdaiis) have been locked to 02. Hope to get 02 exec soon so unlocked would be excellent!

I've got an XDA Exec as well (from last famous O2 brochure price mistake), came as *unlocked*
