Why do you not donate to charities who are opposed to vivisection?
This is a vile practice which needs to be stamped out.
I donate regularly to Cats Protection League, Dogs Trust and an independent local rescue centre called Animals In need.
I can't give as much as I'd like because I have to feed and care for my own 14 cats and 2 dogs.

I donate my time to the local cats protection shelter and some tins of food if and when i see a special offer in the supermarket and I have spare cash.

  • I never ever do now since finding out that the RSPCA pays for solicitors fees for a un-nessasary house move of 10 miles and then gives money for new kitchen appliences to their workers! The person in question had enough money to move into a 5 bedroomed detatched house for goodness sake!

Poor poor animals - they can't see a penny at that rate!

All the big charties do this. As an employer they have a duty to try and get the best workers and so offer benefits. If you don't give to the RSCPA then I wouldn't give money to any of the "big" or "well known" charities.

I find it unacceptable to be honest - I hear the RSPCA are now cutting staff due to money difficulties. Is it any wonder?! Maybe they should spend the money on the workers wages and care for animals like the charity was set up for originally! That's what people give for - to help the animals. You don't find the public sector doing this. The police, fire, NHS giving rediculous amounts of money for people to move house 10 miles - they just have interviews to find the best people for the job.
  • I volunteer at my local Cats Protection branch (am branch secretary) and donate money when I can. My local CP branch has an online shop and clicks to link to Zavvi, Amazon and other online shops.

TBH, sometimes local animal charities want time, eg volunteers to rattle tins, sponsored walks etc. type things. I'd suggest googling your local charities and chat with them, see which one you get more of a "feel" for.
  • We dont donate money regular but we do often buy a tin of food and put in the charity box at the supermarket.

  • I donate monthly to my favourite dog charity Support Dogs which is a fantastic small UK charity that trains dogs to help people with epilepsy and people with disabilities.

They're a fantastic charity who take on unwanted stray dogs too and train them to a standard that makes a huge difference to people's lives.

They're currently asking on their website for people to join their Puppy Power Appeal and sponsor their latest recruit, a gorgeous puppy :heartpuls called Poppy and it says:
For just £1 a week you can sponsor the training of our latest recruit; Poppy.
She is a gorgeous 12 week old cream Labradoodle puppy who has her heart set on becoming a fully qualified registered assistance dog and transforming the life of a disabled person, but she cannot do so without your help.
In return for your sponsorship over the next two years you will receive a special Puppy Power Pack complete with:
    • Poppy’s photograph
    • 10 x Poppy postcards
    • A certificate of sponsorship
    • Regular updates on Poppy’s progress as she learns all the skills she will need to become a Support Dog and as she begins her working life
Plus you will have the satisfaction of knowing that you have helped to transform the life of a disabled person for years to come.

You can also give the gift of puppy sponsorship as a gift for a relative or friend and we will send them all of the above plus a “personalized message” from you.

And honestly, I don't work for them but I do think they do fantastic work :j and being a small lesser known charity, they really need the money!
