The aerial i share with our neighbours, it's one connected to a row of houses. My TV in the living room is fine, i get freeview and the picture is great, it's my mums one in her bedroom. She has an analogue portable and a freeview set top box, she cannot get a signal from the freeview box.

Sounds like a job for a new aerial. Does her portable aeiral point in the same direction as the one you share with the neighbours?

She could connect her freeview box to your aerial point, tune it in just to make sure that is working
