Stained Bath

I would suggest the magic eraser for any type of stain. It seriously is magic and you don't have to use any kind of cleaner with it. Once you've got it though, you won't be able to refrain from going around the house and trying it on every little Mark or stain that you've never been able to remove before lolWhat the Deuce?0

I keep checking back too! lol
Another cleaning combo from Kim and Aggie is Borax mixed with Bicarb. I have their cleaning bible at home, so will check tonight what solutions they offer that you can try (and the 'recipes' for making them).
They do recommend a cup of bicarb, followed by a cup of vinegar down sinks and baths, to clear the pipes. Maybe that will work. PS, it is supposed to fizz up and lift the dirt. Though quite how much you would need of both to soak the bath, I don't know! lolFebruary wins: Theatre tickets0 -
OK, I checked the book, and they warn to be careful about scrubbing plastic and enamel surfaces too abrasively as they will scratch and become more difficult to clean, which isn't particular helpful when the bath is designed with the grip surfaces built in.
But, anyway, for tough areas on the bath, they recommend first soaking in soda crystals (which you've already done) and then mixing bicarb of soda, with a little neat bleach to make a paste, and rubbing this over the affected areas. So, you could try that.
I still think that it might be a good idea to sprinkle bicarb all over, and then slowly pour on some white vinegar. The mixture should, supposedly, fizz up and lift and break up any grease/dirt. Which, actually, gives me an idea for something to try on my acti fry stirrer thingy, which I can't get the grease off of.
I hope that helps. How did you get on last night?February wins: Theatre tickets0 -
My last suggestion is denture cleaning tablets - probably four or five, in some hot water - the fizzing action is great for cleaning stuff.
When's the next update?0 -
I have a mammoth deadline for monday so no more MSE and updates until next week. Build the anticipation and all that!
Will try Kim and Aggie's ideas as well as the Borax thing (although I have no Borax so will have to buy some in) then the denture tablets.
Shopping list:
Denture tablets
Borax
More bicarb

Hehe thanks for all the methodical testing and feedback Miss Shoes - I'm a dedicated follower of your bath now! Very interesting that good old bio washing powder is the best so far.
Good luck with your deadline, looking forward to the next update!I believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.

Calling miss shoes - just want to check you're alive and not Unconscious from all the fumes from all these cleaning products? Lol
Really, am just desperate to know how it's going?0 -
I am alive!
So no change with the magic eraser thing at all- waste of money using that for the bath.
Tried the kim and aggie mix- and actually the bath stayed the same. I think it's the best it can be- no new picture as it's the same.
It's official. I give up.- DFD 4th July 2015

Not to want to start you off cleaning your bath again but have you tried milton sterilising tablets, I use them for all sorts and they usually work. I think it would take quite a few in the bath with cold water left over night. You must have spent a fortune on all of these cleaning products.0
