And what a delightful chap you sound! What reasonable deduction and arguement. "I dont like em so their pointless"

If it was pointless the MOD would be the first to strip it for costs. Me suspects its people like you that means the trade is needed more then ever.

    I will second that.

I have always gone where I wanted to. So what does that make me - worthwhile?

you're good - from 2 sentences you have sussed me out. you must be an RAF copper.

if you feel you can justify the raf police trade then feel free to do so. in all my years in the raf i have never seen them do anything of any worth

I will pass on your comment to CAS I am sure he will scrap the entire trade based on this valuable insight.

You have obviously never looked in the right places. I am sure your particular trade is indispensible too.

alright I'll lower myself to your level but it wont be pritty

One of my friends on another forum lived on base, her and her DH broke up as he had found someone else. They had 3 kids. He then moved out while she tried to find somewhere else. Then he started coming round demanding access to the house. Getting aggressive. It was the RAFP who took him away and cautioned on the consequences of going back. The locks were then changed.

So mister "justify your stance while I dont justify mine" who EXACTLY do you suppose was going to take this man away? To protect her and her children? Who do you think investigates break ins? Goes after that dodgy looking car thats been stood outside the gates for 20 mins?

Or have you just been caught speeding on base and dont thinks it fair to be copped for breaking the law?

If he is going to be away alot id advise trying to get to a bigger unit that work 4 on 4 off that way youll see more of each other. Otherwise theres plenty of units in lincolnshire which are commutable to notts.

And there are a shedload of scuffers at Henlow which isn't a million miles away. On the Lossie/Kinloss point mentioned earlier; when I was that far north I knew a lot of people who weekend commuted, usually by train or occassionally plane

please do and hopefully he will scrap the trade.

my trade is indispensible. without it the jets would not fly!!

i know a few coppers and they are nice people, i just don't think their trade is of any worth.

Fliss M - that is one example of something RAFP have done and it could have been done by the civvy police.

no i have never been caught speeding on unit, i have no axe to grind with the RAFP.

Something tells me the MOD would have a big problem (not to mention other forces personnel) with civvy police on base throwing their weight around. Civvy police and RAFP jobs are 2 whole different kettle of fish with very different rules (and consequences for actions) from what I understand. After DH did basic training last time he said of the glass house. Sounded a damb sight worse then civvy prisons to me.

Thanks, its great to know he wouldnt be the only one commuting a long way during his time off. All you tend to get when asking what its like is info about married quarters which really isnt for us right now

Really. There are enough civilian jets flying without the input of service personnel.

I am sure your job could be outsourced.

Yes there are loads of scuffers at Henlow as it also the HQ RAF Police. The HQ is not the place for a newly qualified A/Cpl. The Sation Police Flight is quite small and operates in conjunction with Brampton and Wyton.

please excuse typing 9wk old draped over 1 arm! my dh joined just over 12 months ago and is currently paid as an LAC on lower payband we see £880 a month into our account but that is after various deductions including student loan and accom totalling £240. when he was on basic he wasnt expected to pay accom charges as being married and living unacompamied the view is he is alredy paying for a home. however i do remember being told this probably wouldnt be the case if he went voluntarily unacompanied after training. you do need to be prepared to stand your ground, we are going through our first proper posting now and being treated pretty badly to be honest as hes 'only' a trainee and they dont get many married trainees

    good luck
