Crunch time for council workers’ golden pensions

TBH it is not the great job people think, as mentioned before to get a 'gold plated pension' you have to be right at the top, my pension isnt going to be anything to shout from the roof tops about.
yes, it may not be much but it is a hell of lot more than it would be for someone earning your salary in the private sector.0 -

And that is what this thread is all about. If this inequality in pensions continues, people will leave the private sector because they have a choice (just like my sister did 15 years ago) and the private sector will dwindle and then there will be even less money to pay for public services and we will be in an even worse postion than we are in at the moment (if that is possible). Without a profit generating private sector, there is no money to pay for a public sector.0 -

Really? I must have missed them. Instead I've seen a lot of whining about how poorly paid people are in the public sector by those very same people who are in those jobs and who have complete freedom to get out of those jobs if they had the will and - here's the crux - the gumption to do so.
But it's better to be a victim and complain, isn it, rather than taking steps to improve it? It's more in tune with modern Britain.
Don't think in either of the threads you can find evidence of me whining, moaning, complaining or anything like. Debating points yes. Whining no.
And I would argue (again:rolleyes:) that points have been made that those with the more right wing/capitalist views have not answered, because the points made don't fit in to their agenda.
In example:Not to mention tax breaks and incentives, government subsidies for businesses, grants to take on apprentices....
The private sector is a considerable drain on public finances.
PS still wanna marry me?;)Quote:
