I have tried this before - but been told that some companies won't change the date.

My major DD's go out on the 1st - but I haven't been able to change the others.

Tell them you get paid on the 30th for example although this is best done when you first set up the DD but worth trying

Although you can try canceling the DD via on line banking then ringing the company up sorry did this in error but reset it up going out on the

Don't worry about typing out my username - Call me COMP

Excellent thanks for the proof of basic account reporting guys - it will all help with the argument with FOS..... keep em coming please do. :T :T :T

I may just send a link to this page to them so they can see for themselves what people say (if they bother to look of course?)

  • That's fine by me! The basic bank account is the only HSBC product I have and the account number (which I've hidden) correlates to that account. I've only checked equifax so not sure if it shows on my other records

    Thanks.

My HSBC accounts are reported to all 3 agencies, albeit they are full current accounts but still, i'd assume they will be reporting to all 3 with your account as well.

I haven't looked at CallCredit, but my 2 accounts are defo shown on Equifax and Experian.

Even though they're not supposed to be reporting, it's nice to see my line of green 0's, :D and for someone like me who's trying rebuild their file it's not a bad thing, although I do appreciate this is still wrong.

    Hiya

I think it may actually be allowed - been reading up on this and apparently (I use that word lightly) so long as they ask permission before you proceed with the application (i.e. the padlock symbol 'how we use your information') then they 'can' if they like search you and if unsuccessful, they can offer the basic account - 'apparently' they also do this to do a quick check into you for a couple of reasons; past account and/or debt within the group and secondly to see if you're a b/r or very high risk.

This also means that if successful with a basic account even, they can if they like report history conduct to the CRA's because you did fail the check for the full account but you did give permission for them to share data with third parties and CRA's. See where i'm coming from with this.....?

So ultimately, i'm even more p!shed at the banks cos they are breaking every rule going to safeguard themselves - arghhhhh
