IMHO natural hair (whatever colour) is generally nicer than dying it.
With redheads, tbh they often don't suit black or very dark colours, as they often have pale skin.
I'd just make sure she realises there is more to life than hair colour, but equally how to show hers off to its best (clothing colours, styles, make-up etc).
I am brown naturally, have dyed it reddy brown, black (disaster involving undying and at one point have stripes of blonde/red/brown/black ), had blonde and copper highlights, but tbh it looks best natural (even with a few greys in there!).Ermutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.

I love my red hair, I may have got bullied for it in school but all that did was give me an amazing repitoire of put-downs lol! My first one being that if you like ginger biscuits then you have to like me lol! (I was about 6 then so it is a little childish)!:o
I agree with other posts that I get so many compliments on my hair colour now it's unreal! More often than not I get the same comment that they would love to have my hair (not only is it a gorgeous colour but it is also lovely and thick);)
I must admit though that I do dye it now and again, but I only go for similar shades of red (or bolder), and only temporary colours mainly to give it a nice shine. I did dye it brown once but washed it out after 2 days because I felt plain.
To the OP what I would say is that all you can do is ignore the bullies, and let your DD know that she should be proud of herself. I hope that one day she will bump into one of these bullies (especially if they were the "popular" girls) and see how they have let themselves go like I did!:p:DIf I am laughing, then I don't understand!!

I'm not a redhead myself but I have never understood the stigma attached to it! Female redheads look so striking and dramatic. I have one friend who has sadly now cut off most of the thick pale red curls that used to cascade over her shoulders and make her look like a Pre-Raphaelite damsel. At one point I knew three different men who were all acting like lovesick puppies over her...
Another redhead, also with long curls, is a 10-year-old who goes to my church. She had the "dolly" look when she was little, but now she's getting older she's got a very serious, interesting, studious look.
For some reason, I generally think women carry off red hair better than men. Not sure why that it - perhaps it's specific to the redheads I've knownOperation Get in Shape

Red hair (like all colourings!) is beautiful - I was admiring a girl on the bus the other day who had gorgeous reddish gold hair down to her waist.
I have been dyeing my hair red for a few years (just use a semi-permanent at home) and it's amazing how many compliments I get, most people think it's my natural colour though, even my hairdresser thought it was the first time I went to him (I wish!)
"Ginger-ist" 'jokes' and comments should be stamped out, there is a difference between a bit of teasing (I got teased for being a natural blonde) and what is actually racial abuse. My cousins are natural redheads and I have had idiots shout stuff at me in the street so I do understand the level of some scumbags' prejudice!
I think that wigs might be a nice idea for the OP's daughter - red hair generally doesn't take to dye well anyway and it would be a shame to damage the condition for the sake of 'blending in'. A wig would give her a bit of versatility and she might find she doesn't even like being blonde or brunette! Though if she is as stunning as you describe it seems unlikely that a change of hair colour is going to make her particularly anonymous...0 -

My daughter is strawberry blonde and that really isn't a euphemism she has red and blonde hairs. In some lights her hair positively glows like rose gold, when she was born it was like a halo!
She has had alsorts of ginger jokes and once said I don't want to go to school as I am sick of the teasing.
TBH it is rascist - you would not be able to comment on anyone's skin colour so why is it ignored when you are talking about Native British roots? What about putting in a complaint about the interview to the race relations people?
To the OP your daughter sounds like the classic original briton - they were tall and slender, think Boudicca! Hate to sound like my Mum, but they are only jealous!!0 -
Hope this works - here is me and my red etc hair
