We have recently replaced two of our central heating radiators. I had a look on the web but couldn't see anywhere that would pay for the old ones. Anybody know are they worth anything, or should I just take them to the local dump?

Take them to your local scrap metal merchants. They are taking (and paying for) just about any scrap metal these days as there is a shortage. You might not get much for them, but every little helps, ay? :D

Try www.inkcycle.co.uk. I've just looked and they will pay me £1 for my HP cartridge. Worth a look. xxx
Just checked the website and they take Epson cartridges, which is excellent as everyone else won't touch them with a barge pole.:D They only pay 10p/10 points per empty new (not reused) cartridge. But it looks like you have to pay for the postage. May investigate this further - but thanks again :T

i know a charity that does the recycling phones/cartridges scheme, contact them and they will send you the envelope you need.

    www.hemihelp.org.uk

sorry i dont know how to do links yet!

they are a charity for children/families with hemiplegia, a type of cerebral palsy.

    hope this helps.

Try www.fonebank.com I have just looked and they will pay me £140+ for my apple iphone. Worth a look. ***

On request, they would send the raised money to our desired charity.

    Just to add.

Sold a couple of old mobile phones on e bay recently plus DD2s Gameboy Advance.

Now I probably need to sell a couple more mobiles that were replaced by new Christmas Presents. I have found that e bay is the best place to get rid of these especially if you've got good feedback.

Kevin the £3.99 e bay courier (now £5.99 see this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200062195616&ssPageName=MERC_VIC_RSEE_Pr4_PcY_BIN_Stores_IT&refitem=200060455636&itemcount=4&refwidgetloc=closed_view_item&usedrule1=CrossSell_LogicX&refwidgettype=cross_promot_widget) has made it profitable for me to sell a job lot of Haynes Workshop Manuals - none of which would have sold well if at all on it's own due to postage.

I also sold an old (very) Raleigh Tamahawk (baby chopper of the 70s) on e bay for £20. It was in rough condition and needed work. But there is a cult market out there.

Does anyone know where you can recycle old i-pods? I seem to remember one of the phone recycling companies does it but are there any better ideas? Don't think it would go for much on ebay as is an old non coloured one.
