Xbox 360 HDTV question

Options
If I don't have an HDTV, what is the quality like when playing games on a normal CRT?

Is there a big difference between and HDTV and a non HDTV?

Should I buy an HDTV for it?

I've not noticed a huge amount of difference. Yes it is great on my LCD tv and very crisp. But I can just as easily/happily play games with it on my standard 28" widescreen tv upstairs.

I'd only get an LCD screen if you're considering getting a new tv. It's not worth getting one just to benefit the 360.

The only difference you will probably notice is crisper craphics and more detail for instance in call of duty 2 when a grenade goes off the dust and dirt looks more realistic, even without a HDTV the 360 will look good

After using hd I could never go back to standard definition on my 360 now, but had I never used it i wouldn't know any better and it woldn't bother me.Also if you really play to win, call of duty for example I can play well on hd due to being able to see clearer and get a shot fired off earlier giving me a slight advantage.

True, maybe for Call Of Duty. But for games like PGR3 or Elder Scrolls Oblivion (arguably the best two games for the 360 excluding Ghost Recon) the difference isn't huge. If. you've got a HD LCD or Plasma then great, but I wouldn't buy one just to benefit the 360. In fact in my opinion it's not even worth buying an HD tv just yet. It's a technology being forced at the consumer that isn't yet ready. Give it another year at least, maybe two before considering buying an HD tv. You're better off picking up a second hand CRT (standard tv) from eBay for £100 and waiting.
