sky multiroom

i just moved into a house that has the wires for sky+ downstairs and a wire from the sky dish in the bedroom, do you think that if i got a second hand sky box it would have the same effect as multiroom or would i only be able to watch what is on downstairs? Thanks very much

Fairly sure that it will change channels OK, but not much else.
