I know i feel so sorry for her. I went round to see her the other week and she was just sat crying her eyes out because she couldnt even get the pram downstairs to take the baby our for a walk. The only time she can get out is if one of her friends goes round.
Dinah - would you want a house that is ready to move into straight away or would you want to do all th work to it yourself?Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0 -

Oh the poor thing. That is a disgrace that the lift hasn't been fixed for that long. I would be on the phone to them every hour
Just keep an eye on her. I imagine it would be very easy to slip into a depression when there is a situation like thatTotal (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Could your friend not get a sling to carry the baby in? One of my friends lives in a flat, and she doesn't even have a pram, everywhere she goes her little one is just strapped to her front, happy as larry. Hes about 6 months now, but I know you can get those backpack things for bigger babies.
We'd rather do the work to be honest. But we might be a bit scared if it needed a new kitchen immediately as that is a big undertaking. Anything else though, not really an issue. I'd want to decorate it in my style anyway.

Thats what we are all worried about. Her poor OH is working all the hours he can to try and pay for them to move somewhere else. I went round and picked her up last week and we went out for the day, when i took her home she was sobbing. I cant imagine how must feel to feel that trapped and unhappy in your own home!Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0 -
Afternoon girls!
And a very happy Friday! House-buying is such a minefield, isn't it? Dinah, you've obviously clued up and you know what you want so go for it! The only thing I'd say is not to bank on things you can't guarantee (such as future earnings and even maternity pay)
If you'd asked me about predicted earnings 5 years ago when I graduated, it would be a lot more than I'm on now!! Same for a lot of people, I imagine - I blame the government, but that's a whole other story
Oh, your poor friend Flower - it must be awful to feel so trapped when you're supposed to be enjoying being a new mum.LBM Sep 2008 debt: £27,927.04start weight: 140.2, week 2: 1380 -

I think Dinahs idea of a sling is excellent. She could also bring down the buggy first and then the baby in the sling and put the baby in the buggy then. Bit of a trek but worth it to get out.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

A whole site of baby slings. I bet there are some cheaper on ebay too. I'll be honest, my friends baby sling is a towl, but then she is Ugandan and its probably an ancient method of towel tying!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

This is definitely true. My friend and her husband both have government jobs in Ireland. They undertook an extension and halfway through it the Irish government decided to impose a pension levy on all government workers. They are now €800 worse off every month. That is the cost of their mortgage & they have a 2 year old and a new baby. They are fuming
They said they would never have done the extension if they knew that was coming in.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

She could do with getting a lightweight buggy rather than a pram really, but i suppose it is the issue of money money money!! Definatly think the sling would be a good idea though.Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0
