Yeah it's because during the week we're all skiving at work but at the weekend we're all living our real proper lives and don't have time to post cus we're having too much fun!

Yep, obviously this is the case! Or actually I just try to avoid the internet at the weekend because I spend SO much time on it during the week...

I had a really nice weekend going out for dinner for a friend's birthday and meeting up with about 15 people who haven't got together in a really long time! I think winter makes you nostalgic :) It also involved (another) curry, enough alcohol to make me lose my phone in the back of a taxi (but luckily nice man found it and phoned my mum the next morning!) and then an interactive X factor catch up on Sunday morning where me, OH and my parents scored all the acts in a Strictly-esque fashion. Should I admit to that? It was so much fun!

Wendz, I wouldn't listen to the wii fit - sometimes it's just mean!! :rotfl:

Speaking of which, now we know we'll be getting some help towards the house deposit, we're kind of thinking of going all out for the wedding. We have the savings, or will do as time goes along, so might as well pay the bit extra to have the ideal wedding ring or the ideal cake rather than making it ourselves, and have the dream honeymoon. You only do it once and since it won't get us into debt, we might as well have an amazing day with no worries about missing something out if we want it.

Speaking of which, we've booked the venue! Need to put down the deposit this week, but we're confirmed we're having it September 3rd 2010! We also went through the list last night, and realised we'd missed quite a few people off, so our day do has gone from 70 to 88 (if all attend) and the evening from 180 to 215!

Wow, that was a monster post! The food poisoning sounds nasty - they always say rice is terrible for that, but didn't realise the extent of it!

But YAY about all the other news - it's fantastic that the pressure is off the house deposit and you can really have the wedding of your dreams, I'm so happy for you :j Booking the venue must really make it feel 'real'! The house news sounds really positive too - see, we knew you'd be able to do it somehow!

Wow monster post there Dinah. Sorry to hear that you were so ill!!

Great news about the venue being booked, must make it all seem very real now. How exciting!

Great news about the decision on the house aswell.

  • Yikes, didn't know that about rice! Shocked at the extremes you'll go to for the diet challenge though! :D

Monster post but all looks good, I agree about going for the posh wedding rings, I think that's one thing you'll regret if you scrimp on it. Yikes to the finger though! (Reminds me, Blueberry Muffin attempt #375 - came out looking like Yorkshire puds, which was an interesting departure from the norm).

Hurrah for nice man Poddle! :)

Diet going badly, made the most of student discount in pizza hut on Friday and ate loads, then had an enormous sausage casserole WITH dumplings AND colcannon AND stuffing balls on Saturday, then got myself a chinese last night as I was ravenous after a long beach walk with the dog and felt sorry for myself on my own, just about to start updating Food Focus for the last three days :o

Let me knows how yours goes, I need to do that too, although mine is likely to be under since I've eaten a sandwich and lemonaide and a bit of lucozade all weekend! Oh and I did have a few steamed Wagamama dumplings which were lovely.

Babysitting sounds good, though it seems a long way to go for a job. Is it £6 per hour per person, or for the both of you? Did you do anything of the sewing variety this weekend??

    Hope everyone's well! :)

Nope £6 for both, but its better than nothing. That said shes come back with a long email about CRB checks and the like, so might not happen anyway as its a lot of hassle for a job an hours drive away!

No sewing done or work done on my file, although mum did pick me up the material for my dress. They'd run out of the chiffon for the scarf bit though, so need to find something else from somewhere.

You'd think so Poddle but no, it still doesn't feel real to me! Maybe it will when I put down the deposit?!

Oo, he sounds lovely. Like a modern day Mr Darcy!

Crikey to your Food Poisoning though Dinah! Sounds horrible, glad you're feeling better now though.

Sounds like massive changes on the Wedding / House front! Yay to booking the venue and being able to have your dream wedding though. So happy for you and NIM! Those ex-council houses sound good too (bar the unlivable state!)

Oh and while unable to sleep, I got up to do my teeth again (dont ask me why but I NEED my mouth to feel clean in order to sleep, thought it might kick start the process) and in the huge hotel bathroom mirror I noticed that for the first time in about 3 years I have a completely flat tummy. Very happy with that!
