Its always quiet on here at the weekend, everyone must be busy busy busy.

I've had a pretty quiet weekend. OH and i went shopping yesterday and treated ourselves to some new clothes. Feel a bit naughty spending the money as we should pay it towards our debts but i cant remember the last time we got anything new and we didnt spend an excessive amount, about £55 between us.

Just got back from the gym today and am now shattered. Think i will transfer some more reviews from dooyoo to ciao, im on £2.60 now with ciao and have only been on it a few days so im quite pleased with that.

I dont think its a crime to buy yourself some clothes , especilaly if you haven't for ages!

That is great for Ciao, I am on £1.40 ish, so slowly getting there. Going to transfer a few reviews a day over.

I have heard alot of moans about ciao, but if im writing the reviews for dooyoo anyway i may aswell but them on ciao even if its only gains me a few extra pounds. Oh and i've already had my first revenge rater on ciao - never mind!

Yes OH has been trying to convince me that its really not that bad that we bought ourselves new clothes, i guess hes right, its not like we've added to our debts and i needed something nice and warm ready for the cold months ahead of us.

Yeah it's because during the week we're all skiving at work but at the weekend we're all living our real proper lives and don't have time to post cus we're having too much fun!

Or in my case this weekend, sitting around my granny's dogsitting with no internet connection! I'm so tired now, although didn't do much obviously you don't relax as much in someone else's home as you do in your own.

Diet going badly, made the most of student discount in pizza hut on Friday and ate loads, then had an enormous sausage casserole WITH dumplings AND colcannon AND stuffing balls on Saturday, then got myself a chinese last night as I was ravenous after a long beach walk with the dog and felt sorry for myself on my own, just about to start updating Food Focus for the last three days :o

Babysitting sounds good, though it seems a long way to go for a job. Is it £6 per hour per person, or for the both of you? Did you do anything of the sewing variety this weekend??

    Hope everyone's well! :)

I managed to eat a lot of chcolate this weekend and the wii fit tells me I am almost overweight eek! Don't want to diet but may have to cut back on the chcocolate etc for a bit.
  • I don't think that you're almost overweight - judging by your dooyoo pic! I watched Half Ton Mum last night, made me feel a bit better about myself :D

Morning ladies (and NIM). Been a quietish weekend. Had to just fill up the car for the next fortnight (won't need much this week as I am on my 9 days break). Better get onto STP and get these 36 tracks done (if I can stay at 3 stars) for my £6.

Morning all - don't loose hope at the monster post, just lots of exciting updates!

Very long and busy weekend. Kickstarted nicely on Friday by me giving myself food poisioning. That rice lunch I had Cinny thought sounded yummy .... yeah, never reheat rice. Aside from feeling terrible, I got shakes, fever, heavy limbs, pins and needles starting in my arms and covering my legs and face till I thought I was having a stroke, and hallucinations (being attacked by wedding stationary!). According to our family friend/doctor rice food poisioning has the most severe symptoms, but is also the quickest to get over. Sure enough 48 hours later I'm almost normal again.

However this did mean I was on lemonaide only at my best friends birthday on Saturday. I was impressed I managed to get there at all as I felt so faint. Put in two hours, then back to the hotel where I got to lie awake and read reams of my book while NIM snored happily. I couldn't sleep as the hotel was in the city center, nice and fancy and obviously convenient, but the clubbers outside were very loud, and best of all some bloke got the room next to ours at about midnight and brought back the drunkest woman I ever heard, who crashed into wardrobes, clonked herself on the head with the ironing board, and threw up, while he endeeringly told her to 'get up you stupid wh0re, I didn't pay for the room for you to pass out'. Which she no doubt did, because at 2am I had a lovely 10 minuite serenade of bed springs, him yelling 'take it b1tch' and her saying 'yes, do me, yes, do me' etc and 'stop I'm gonna puke' intermittently'. Never have I been more glad for the snoring little angel who was sleeping beside me and the fact I'm never going to have a horrible man like that in my vicinity again.

Also, I put in product suggestions for both the hotel and my book before going away with Dooyoo, so can review both of them today!

On Sunday we had some time to kill so browsed jewellers and shops in Harrogate. Our wedding rings are going to be a lot more expensive than we thought as we were planning to get NIM palladium, which is £250 to platinums £850 for a plain 5mm band. However, turns out you can't resize palladium, and as NIM is likely to change shape and need it altering over his lifespan, and he's emotional and wants the ring he wears on his wedding day to be the one he goes into the ground with, so I guess we're paying the extra.

Speaking of which, now we know we'll be getting some help towards the house deposit, we're kind of thinking of going all out for the wedding. We have the savings, or will do as time goes along, so might as well pay the bit extra to have the ideal wedding ring or the ideal cake rather than making it ourselves, and have the dream honeymoon. You only do it once and since it won't get us into debt, we might as well have an amazing day with no worries about missing something out if we want it.

Speaking of which, we've booked the venue! Need to put down the deposit this week, but we're confirmed we're having it September 3rd 2010! We also went through the list last night, and realised we'd missed quite a few people off, so our day do has gone from 70 to 88 (if all attend) and the evening from 180 to 215!

Also in Harrogate while killing time, we went to Lush - NIM is worse than me! He bought a few shavings bits, and I got a face mask and face scrub. We tried to justify it that by getting 5 things we get a free face mask when we return the tubs?! Sometimes its just nice to have a treat.

That said, its our first month of trying to stick to £200 spends, down from the usual £350. We've gone about £15-£20 over, but thats not the end of the world.

Got a letter through from HSBC about my graduate overdraft. For no apparent reason I'm continuing to get £1000 interest free when by rights it should be £500, but then its all going in July. Might have a word with them see if I can keep it the extra 6 months I should have, but its not the end of the world if I can't have it.

Know this is turning into a monster post, but we're having a bit of a change of thought on the house buying front. We have been looking for a decent house in an okay location, but we're not thinking more we go for the wreak in the perfect location. There are currently 3 ex-council houses up for sale in our ideal location, all between £139,000 and £142,000. The biggest (and cheapest) one is not in a livable state, needs new wiring, a kitchen, bathroom, complete redecoration, an oil storage tank, possibly re-roofing, double glazing, and central heating putting in (currently solid fuel central heating in places). It would also probably need to be extended (only one without a kitchen extension at the back) but it has more space about it and is the only one with a garage, or space for a garage out of the 3. All 3 are on the same quiet road opposite a brilliant school, and the mortgage would be very affordable to the extent I could probably stay home and take care of the children when they hopefully come.

So.... lots of news from me!

ps I also knackered my finger mushing bananas for the hummingbird banana cheesecake last night, snapped a nail halfway down the nail, lots of blood, eww!
