Ah rubbish! Sucks having to work weekends.. I get fed up enough just working on a Sunday!

I am uber impressed with my new hard drive. I thought it would take hours to transfer all my pictures, but it only took 15 mins to transfer 11GBs worth! :D

I'm getting quite into this DooYoo malarky. My latest review has 21 ratings and they are all 'Very Useful'. I'm quite chuffed! Ha, there are all these people with billions of miles and crowns and I'm pleased with my 8260 miles and 21 Very Usefuls!

    Hello everyone

Hope you're all ok and having good weekends. I'm just settled at the computer whilst OH gently snores like an alarmed elephant in the chair :rotfl: We had a late night cos we went to a wedding yesterday and we had to stay until the end cos OH is the singer in a local rock band and it was one of the guitar players who was getting married and he wanted to play at his own wedding (now that's very MS of him). Actually after catching up with the thread and reading Dinah's posts about weddings the venue yesterday was one where you were a bit worried about where to put your bag. I went to the loo and they stank and one of the reasons was they had old carpet on the floor.....in a pub!!

Anyway, on the MoneySaving catching up.....I did a MS the other day which should bag me £12.50, got £66 from Quidco and used that to pay this month's CC (I'm up to the limit, though cos had to buy car insurance and pay for Wesley's tooth to come out, which was over £500 ), I have also reduced the Loan Protect on the CC (got it in a moment of weakness). I know Martin says no but the job I have isn't certain cos the company keep changing the goal posts so I got it reduced to paying just for unemployment and for Life options, where I can claim for 3 months payments if I get married, move house and some other stuff. I know I'm doing one of those next year and would hope I'm doing the other one in the next couple of years..... This takes it from39p?£100 to 17p/£100. I'm also in the process of changing my mobile contract to one that's £15/month cheaper than my old one, plus £110 cashback plus cashback from cashback site plus I can then sell my old phone for about £30. Hope all that goes to plan!!

Oh, and as for extension saga...next door has had to stop his cos he can't afford it!! You think he'd have thought it through before starting it but it confirms the theory that the builder next door to him that's doing both (Plonker as I like to call him) 'persuaded' him to have it done!

Right, have a good weekend everyone xx
Let's start again (really need a kick up the bum now) :wall:

  • Hi everyone, Wendz that is awful news about your friend's sis, 20 is no age at all, hope they're all coping ok.

Dinah, pleased that you've found a few ways to cut corners with the wedding, hope you feel a bit less fraught now.

Birdie, Christmas cards sound good (note to self, need to get on with these!), as do scrapbooks! Did you find out what the big mystery was with OH's brother, did I miss that?

Pilchard, loved the alarmed elephant description! My friend wanted to play with her band at her wedding but in the end the groom's brother broke is hand just before the wedding and he was supposed to be taking all the amps and drums and stuff over to the Lakes in his car but because he couldn't drive it wasn't possible. Probably for the est really, don't know how post-rock soundscapes would have gone down with Aunty Sheila!

OH has been a total angel this weekend paying for everything after I told him how skint I was :o We went to York for a look out today, was looking at the sewing stuff in Cath Kidston - but £38 for a sewing box, and £8 for a needle holder which is basically just a couple of bits of felt...! I'll make do with my spotty bag for a while longer. I did get a pattern for a skirt yesterday, though I haven't opened it yet!

Just keeping an eye on my ebay which is all finishing this evening, would quite like to declutter another zone and do a couple of reviews before Emma starts though...

In other news the HSBC CC has temporarily risen back upto £2900. Basically OHs brothers girlfriend had an accident at uni and was taken to hospital. He had no money to get to her so we paid for his train ticket on the credit card.
Bit annoyed but i know we will get it back and we couldnt not help him out when she had no one there with her.
