Well done on your little win Tete!

I have to wait till Tuesday for payday. Shouldn't be an expensive weekend. Got to buy petrol which I have just enough money left for as going home but will only be seeing family and carboot hopefully Sunday which will be making money.

I always used to get cash out when I was at Uni as found it much easier to keep an eye on. Did it this week as well.
  • I should do that really - my ex did when we were at uni and I didn't, I came out with a load of debt and he didn't.

Library had NO books on sewing or making clothes, the lady offered to get hold of Cinny's book but it would cost £6 and it's only £9 to buy, so might just do that. I got a book about decluttering and one about landscape photography for when we go walking :)

Use some of your Dooyoo money to buy it maybe Tete?

I went to Boyes in the end, was planning to wait until payday but I'm sad and excited about bobbins. So I went and got the little bits I could remember (no bobbins though!), pins, needles, no thread, scissors, tape, and they had a 75% off sale on New Look patterns, the whole range. So I bought 4 of those, only got through the 'easy dresses' section, might need to go back after payday to look for a skirt pattern?! However I've just looked through my receipt and realised I only got charged for one pattern so they only cost £2.94 in total!. I don't know whether to be gleefull at the bargain or go back and give them some more money?

Oooh, I was just looking at some online - definitely have to go there on Saturday then. Poor OH will have to amuse himself with the power tools whilst I browse!

    I wouldn't worry too much - it's a family business but they're a rich family!

Can't possibly use dooyoo money for the book - it's earmarked for Wainwright!!

Heehee, it is when you put it like that!

I'm itching to get to Boyes now you know, hope this enthusiasm lasts long enough to complete something I can actually wear!

I only looked at the easy patterns but I got a nice maxi dress, and an evening dress one both of which I would wear in the right fabric. So I guess I need to find that next!

Yeah, its all very standard. Fine for some plain coloured cotton, but nothing with a pattern that doesnt look like a cross between grannies china and an argos modern curtain.

  • Hmm, I find it quite hard actually to look at some fabrics and imagine them as a dress, and then looking at patterns - if they're in a horrible print I can't get past that - do you know what I mean? I guess it's like trying to see a house's potential behind the chintzy wallpaper...
