Empty car park with no signs about clamping etc

I hate car clampers however having said that just because some land is stood idle doesn't give you the right to park there
Would you like it if you came home and saw a car parked in your driveway if you had one for example0 -
Thats a good point, but it might attract thenm to come and have a look, when noone has been near before

In which case they may choose to put signage up to advise if its okay to park there or not.
Either way, you get an answer to the question asked by the OP.

No I wouldnt like it, and i totally agree with you 100%, I know Im being cheeky, but It was an empty building, I didnt block any access or obstruct anything, and i would move right away without anyfus if someone asked me to.
Out of interest, do clampers just take it upon themselves to clamp, or does the owner have to ring them and say 'go clamp cars on my land' also how much would they charge the land owner?0 -
im not asking anyone to defend my actions and i understand its not my land, i was more 'wondering' what the scenario might be0

I personnel wouldn't risk it. We all like to save money but we know know of stories of parasite low life clampers. I know there are cases when there is a legitimate need to stop people parking illegally unfortunately the clamping trades only in it for one reason extortion

Just because it is an empty building doesn't give you the right to park there. What you are doing is not "a bit cheeky" as you seem to think. It is a "big cheek" that you think that some stranger should provide you with free parking. You would not think of using the empty building to have your lunch in, so why should you think that it is all right to use their car park.
Having said that, it is about time that this useless government copied the Scots and made private clamping illegal. I do not think that fairness is a word that crops up very often in the conversations of PPC and clampers.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
near my work place that has been a council building empty for 2 years with a massive car park where about 2 council workers park there!
I rang the council and asked if i could park there for £2 a day and they could give the money to a charity of their choice of whatever!
no they said, spoke to a friend at the council and they said it wont sell thats why its empty for so long, i mean £40 a month for charity or an empty car park, i mean they could tell us to move when it was sold.
madness
so i just park next to other council worker now:rotfl::rotfl:0
