it was actually £160. having a new PS3 for an extra £90 that uses less electricity and whatever game will come bundled with it on the day is a bargain imo :p
Hmm, the website doesn't mention anything about the £250 including a game bundle. Please report back with what you get for your trade in!

Its £160 until tuesday but might change then if they have an influx of trade ins. Its not mentioned on the website. Gamestation is doing £180 trade in but i cant confirm that.

The guy at game showed me the bundles. I think one was £250 including the console and CoD. But i have a memory like a siev so cant be too sure.

My local Gamestation were advertising "by a Slim for £49.99"... however this was for 60gb units only. The deal was £20 deposit, trade in £180 and £49.99 on launch day ONLY. Which is a good deal HOWEVER...

CEX trade-ins are £198.99 for 60GB units and Gamestation price match and add a £1. So if you have a CEX and Gamestation in town and want to do the trade in, thats the best bet at the moment - £199.99. Thats what I have done.

    Hope this helps.

Never heard of CEX before but luckily there is one in my town. The only thing though is that I can't see how much they are charging for the new slim.

I spoke with Game today and they will only honour the £160 trade in this weekend only. Although I don't think the staff actually know what is going on.

They won't be charging anything right away - because they don't sell new goods, only second hand ones. When they do get a few second hand slims in, they'll likely charge a lot of cash. CEX give good value on most trade ins, but correspondingly charge stupidly high prices on new goods.

As for the new PS3 slim, the 40GB fat PS3 has a lower power consumption than the original 60GB, and is quieter too. Meaning there's not such a huge jump between the two models. If you really want a bigger HD, buy a 320GB SATA 2.5 hard disk - typically about 50 quid - and install it. It's really easy to do, and mine now has enough space to store my game installs, and as much Play TV freeview telly as I could ever watch.

I reckon if you have a 60GB model, you'd be better off keeping it or selling it privately. They're getting harder to get hold of, and I find the PS2 B/W compatibility worth it's weight in gold. My singstar back-catalogue would be worthless without it. lol

the bundle offers are £250 for ps3+ 1 game, £275 for 2 games and £290 for 3 (i think.) games included CoD4, Killzone 2, Tiger Woods 09, Fifa 09. Little big planet

If you have any one of the Singstar PS3 versions, you can swap discs and play all your PS2 Singstar discs on any PS3 console!!!

I did not know that! That is awesome. :T

I still like to play other old PS2 games though and the extra USB ports are handy. However, the slim is slightly more tempting now... :)
