I'm hovering just above overdraft level but hoping that the monery I earn this week will cover the other stuff going out until the 10th. It looks like I will have to delay paying off the holiday spend CC though as another couple of cheques I want haven't yet materialised. Not to worry. I'm happy with the overall trend in reducing my debts even though my holiday has slowed that down a lot.
I suppose I better go and do some work. A bit knackered this morning though.
It's better to be hovering above the overdraft that being in it!
Do you get bored of people paying by cheque? Seems like it messes things up for you sometimes.Paulgonnabedebtfree wrote: »Bet that was a relief.
I know that feeling well from service charge bills for my flat. They have this terrible habit of putting the price for the whole contract at the top (multiple blocks of flats), then giving the price for the block in which I live and then, right at the bottom, the cost for my individual property. I nearly had kittens the first time this happened but now I know how they lay it out it's a lot easier.
Yeah it was a relief but had I not been on a promo rate it would have gone from 16.9% to 30.9% and to me, that's completely unjustifiable. They want to charge and exrta 14% and give a months notice...shocking!!
We pay our housing association a service charge for salting the roads and pavements (when they've not been done since we moved in 2years ago and we've had severe snow) and we pay the council for that aswel...I hate paying twice for things when there's nothing you can do about it! :mad:Started PADdin' 13/04/09 paid £7486.66 - CC free 02/11/10

Never thought of that (she says reaching for the phone!!)
It seems quite harsh aswel that they'll close your account if your not happy about it!Started PADdin' 13/04/09 paid £7486.66 - CC free 02/11/10

Wonderful total Macgirl especially as so many people were on holiday thanks for all your hard work.:A
So Jo only a small one to start with but they all count £6.22 to the 0% fund waiting for quidco and some bingo money so that should help. Hope you have a good month.

I would much rather they pay by cheque and post it rather than the doorstep collecting that I did until about 7 years ago. I have tried to get more people paying by bank transfer but even in this tech age, surprisingly few go for that.
It's only a few minutes walk to my bank branch and I deposit cheques in the ATM (24/7 banking effectively) so it's not such a hardship. Trouble is that they recently increased the clearance times by 24 hours as policy. That doesn't sound too bad until you realise that, these past few days, a grands worth of cheques that would have cleared on Friday morning a few weeks ago, never actually cleared until very early this morning.0 -
