I strongly suspect we will have a new four legged addition to the house by the end of the year, despite what the other two moggies think.
Can't decide whether to get another cat or a dog. We've always wanted a dog but I was working such long hours it wasn't viable. As today was the last time of my full time hours though... things may change!;)This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
Fingers crossed x0 -

I've been thinking about this. Someone once told me that they made a point of finding how much their interest was and paying that off as a minimum so that their loan wasn't getting any bigger. I have friends who don't earn much more than the £15,000 threshold who were paying off the 9% after that, but because they weren't even covering the interest it was accumulating, their loan was still getting bigger. As a result, when it comes to me paying it back, I'm going to figure out how much interest I'm paying per month, then use that as the base payment and start to pay a bit more on top (according to my means at the time), so I know that at least a certain amount is coming off the actual total every month.
I know that Martin says that the student loan is the cheapest loan you can get (true), but for those people who aren't quite earning enough to pay anything but a percentage of the interest off each month, it's just getting bigger and bigger. My method will at least ensure it's getting (a tiny bit) smaller. Please call me 'Pickle'
