  • Hello all.

Just starting to see our (my) wedding savings start to disappear as we start putting down deposits BUT glad it's coming out of an account rather than going on credit... How my mindset has changed since signing up on here! Just need to work on OH now!

Anyway, back to the subject of the thread... £5 for me today.

    :TMorning all:j

Am waiting to see if we need to dash over to Manc - yet again - to take stuff for DD, but if not will get back on track, starting the big clearout!

But in the meatime, PADs today are £50 to lloyds o/d & £500 to friend making a total of £550 please purple...

AND DH's EGG is now 0.55p in CREDIT.....in Feb 09 it was £7340.. I suppose they might add a bit of interest so i can't yet claim it gone.....but :T:T:T Yay...

Looking at the snowball calc we have paid off more than £25000 since Feb - & that doesn't include money owed to friends, bank o/d etc. Still a long way to go yet, but I might find time to work it all out, to spur me on to push that bit harder:eek:
New start JAN15 - NOT BUYING IT 2015 . Long haul DFW #145 : 2011 DEBTBUSTING : £5500 OD GONE, £2000 OD - GONE £93,610.30 cc & loan debt - GONE 27.6.14 FINALLY DEBT & MORTGAGE FREE :happyhear
  • Wow thats amazing sashanut, well done!
    £6.72 for me today please.
  • I'm so confused

I've been making PADs to my MBNA account, and my balance has only gone down, yet my minimum payment and the interest actually INCREASED this month (by about £15-20). Has anyone else experienced this? Am I being penalised for making extra payments?

Suspect this is a question for a different board, but just wondered whether other PADders had had the same problem??

I haven't but I suspect the lovely folks at MBNA have increased your interest rate - as they have been doing for loads of people, including me. Have you checked the rate - if it's not that then I can't see them hiking the min pmts/interest without telling you, just for paying them back quicker:eek:

  • Hi sashanut, I checked the interest rate, it is still the same - 2.59% - its only a small increase, but when you're paying off small amounts, it kind of feels like a waste of time when the interest is £15 more than expected. One step forward, two steps back
