Without getting into a debate as there are other threads more suitable for that, I agree that a child feeling good about themselves and having a high self esteem is paramount as this breeds confidence in everything they do.
:T:T:T Couldn't agree more. I think confidence is truly the best thing you can give a child. Well said - hope the family's keeping wellDouble_Trouble wrote: »but you didn't miss me

Well I finally bit the bullet today and contacted Vodafone to give a month's notice to end my account. I can no longer justify having a minimum amount going out on it each month. They even offered me line rental of £8 a month to stay which is actually a very good deal. But I'm going to Asda mobile (ironically their backbone is provided by Vodafone). I reckon I can get by on a lot less than 100 minutes a month and Asda do 8ppm for calls and 4p for texts (I don't use many texts).
I will want to get a new phone though. I think my golden oldie is locked to Vodafone but will borrow someone's SIM to check it out. Even so, I like to have a back-up. I've not had much luck with mobiles down the years and I don't want to risk one dying on me without backup. My current phone has outlived two more modern phones and is fine for fallback.
So, no more contract line rental and, if I play it right, I reckon I can get by on a fiver a month - after making the phone purchase.
All I want from a phone is a decent sized directory, make and receive calls, make and receive texts. It would be a huge bonus to have decent sized characters as I can't read some texts without my reading specs. It would be nice to be able to read them with my distance specs (I can with my current phone as it's bigger all round due to age).
Any suggestions please for a cheap and cheerful, readable phone that doesn't require a degree in computer technology and isn't locked in to a network?0 -
