Tenth Anniversary Combo Breaker
Hi guys,

Today when walking home from the pub I was stopped by the police for "urinating in the street", ok I'll admit on here I was about to, against a lampost, but they got me before I committed the crime!

anyway they had the adress of the street down wrong until I stupidly corrected them (I know what was I thinking!)

anway I have a £40 fine to pay for a fine I did not commit, I'll admit I was about to commit it but didn't actually, is there a way to appeal against the fine as the traffic cops have spelt my name wrong after copying it off my licence!

They also gave my friend a hard time for not wakling on and waiting for me, I know we sound like scumbags, but in all honest they didn't catch me braking the law, they caught me just before I did, plus my friend didn't do anything wrong apart from standing their for them to accuse him of confronting them

sorry I know I'm being dickish, but would you pay the fine or appeal it?

thanks in advance

speaking as a guy who has done this many times on the way home from the pub i would probably save myself the heart ache of persueing this, even although you commited no crime can you prove it?
if you can then chase the ba$tard$ all the way, but if you cant prove it then forget it.
thats what it comes down to.

good luck whatever you decide. and as far as ive seen copying down your name or the street incorrectly makes no difference im afraid.
    ...work permit granted!
  • if you had committeed the crime it would have been £80

i once got caught doing this in newcastle whilst on a visit. it was late night and i was very drunk.

the officer kindly informed me that i was urinating against newcastle crown court.

just got a slapped wrist but could have been worse.

pay the fine and don't do it again
You got to get through what you've got to go through to get what you want but you got to know what you want to get through what you got to go through.

My OH got 'done' for this - and he wasn't doing it!! we were standing under some scafolding as it was raining and looking at some houses in an estate agents window on the way home from a meal out. Maybe it looked like he was having a wee as he had his hands in his pocket and there was lots of water running down the street, but it was raining quite heavily.

Anyhow, we tried to protest but the police were making noises about drunk and arguing, my oh is t total and I was 7 months preg! anyhow, we ended up paying the fine. BOoooooo

shame theyre not intrested in catching thieves and drug dealers etc
  • so, they stopped you from commiting an offence - good! - that is effective policing - after all, prevention is better than cure!

I think peeing in the street is disgusting, you were in the wrong, I would just pay up and learn from the mistake personally.

You should have grabbed the policemans helmet and had a gypsy's kiss in it which apparantly is legal for a pregnant lady

Pay it. It's your word against theirs, and the Magistrates will believe them -simple as that. You will end up with a fine, costs and a victim surcharge to pay.

Payup, its much simpler, I was fined £20 and the cost of dry cleaning a pair of police issue trousers.
I was deep in the shrubbery piddling, when the copper tapped me on the shoulder, He said he would have let me off but I was mid flow.
