MSE forums are so useful! Thanks all for the information. I was wondering how much 200 shares was worth roughly. i think i'll go for the share option too on the basis that i can afford to risk c£160 and it might lead to better returns at some point. And if i had it i'd only spend it!0

Thanks for posting the question OP, I'm in the same position as brooklet, as I got 200 shares after demutualisation. I've previously voted to just keep my shares, as I didn't invest my own money to get the shares, so see it as a 'nothing to lose' situation.
However, with the voting forms, can anybody give me a clue as to what they are about? This must be the 3rd lot of voting forms we've had this year, and I really cannot decipher what they are doing. I presume they are proposing to sell FP to another business? I don't know if that's a good/bad thing. Does anyone have a clue? One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

If you do nothing, you will receive 79.4p per share, i.e. £158.80 in your case. You will then no longer hold any shares in either FP or Resolution.sarymclary wrote: »Thanks for posting the question OP, I'm in the same position as brooklet, as I got 200 shares after demutualisation. If you would like to receive shares in Resolution, you must complete the green form and place an "X" in box 1(A). You will then receive 0.9 Resolution shares for every FP share you hold, i.e. 180 Resolution shares. This form must be sent off in the pre-paid envelope to arrive at Equiniti by 1 pm on 30 October.
If you need the £158 or are likely to need it in the forseeable future, take the money as there will be no dealing costs involved; if not take the shares, re-invest the dividends in Resolution's dividend re-investment plan (if they have one), and you might build up a little nest egg.

Resolution will buy other books of business. Clive Cowdery has a good track record of buying at significant discount to embedded value and then finding clever ways to unlock surpluses from the funds......
And then offloading for a large profit to some patsy trying to out-Cowdery him!
A great Pearl of wisdom!

Has anyone with less than 2500 shares and did nothing received their cheques yet?
According to the resolution website,
Despatch of cheques in respect of cash consideration or settlement of cash consideration through CREST (as appropriate) and statements of entitlements to or share certificates in relation to New RSL Shares (as appropriate) will take place no later than 18 November 2009.
Does the above mean I should receive my cheque tomorrow?0 -
I had 777 Friends Provident shares and received my cheque for £616.94 this morning so looks like you should get yours soon. HTH0

I got my cheque today. A total surprise because I did not get a form giving me a choice. I only have 247 shares and have always kept hold in the intention of cashing them nearer my retirement date. If I wanted to get cash I would have cashed them a few years ago when they were a lot higher. What can I do about this- at 79p per share I would never have asked to sell them now but would have taken the shares if given the choice.Starting MB- looking for Raf offers.

Any queries are only addressed via 0871 numbers which costs 8p per minute to ring.
There appears to be no email contact and no working other numbers on saynoto0870.com
Despite the letter from Resolution offering an alternate 0870 number - this then directs calls to the more expensive 0871 number.0 -
I am really annoyed about this , if I had wanted money I would have cashed in years ago and got 3 times what I'm getting now, I did not want to sell and didn't get a chance fill in any form. I don't follow the markerts and am not particularly up on stocks and shares but I am bright enough to know not to sell at the moment. Really really annoyed MSErr, who can I complain to. No joy from ringin 0871 384 2056 - just a recorded message telling me my shares would be automatically sold unless I elected to swap fror resolution shares- I didn't get the chance to do this. Who can I complain to???Starting MB- looking for Raf offers.
