I did my December budget the other day and think it will be tight this month. As well as saving money for the business, there's always that matter of Christmas... Already, lots of new things have cropped up that I haven't accounted for. Oh well, I can only do what I do, I suppose.

On a more positive note... well, there's two things....

    1. Today's been a NSD - yay! 2 days in a row!!
    2. I've gone off alcohol which is very :money::money::money: - and also unlike me, it has to be said. I am wondering if this is a sign of pregnancy????! Or, I'm wondering if I'm thinking too much....:o

maybe you're hoping too much that's it's going to happen quickly :) but at least it's helping to save money.
I did our numbers last week for december and for the first time in ages i didn't need the money OH puts towards the bills to break even. little steps.....

Yeah, I know, I know... Odd nonetheless tho. Not like me to be jaded about a glass of wine!

Sounds like you're doing well on your MSE stuff - well done.

It's been a whirlwind of a weekend and not looking forward to the week ahead :-(

Just thought it would help to log spend. Just about to sit down with hubbie to go through a revised budget for this month. For one thing or another, the last budget won't work cos of little surprises that have popped up (e.g. vet bills due to poorly cat).

  • Dearest my diary...

I've been a bit rubbish with my posting recently compared with the earlier eager enthusiasm of my 1+ posts per day... but, I am still keeping up my MSE habits - honest guv!

I'm spending many, many hours now on the business. When I'm not in work, I'm doing that. Fortunately, hubbs has been really supportive - even making dinners at night . I think he's hoping that I'll make us rich :p:p. Work's slow. Still have that strange tension going on. No redundancies yet, but I dare say this will change in the new year.

For the first time ever, we have drawn up a budget for Christmas, and so far it's looking good. Good, hey?

Okey dokey, so recent grocery spends - £13.65 at Aldi/Sainsburys. Not doing TOO bad, although some unexpected spending will eat into the grocery budget. Boo.

quiet is ok as long as you're still being money saving, generally when i go quiet it's cos i've been naughty. I'm not going too badly at the moment, i just need to be a bit carefull but there's no change there then.

    Hi Catspaw and Lemon Tree!

I was just having a nosey at ur diary! i am debt busting for the wedding and so we can start trying for a baby in 2011! kind of along the same lines as you.

I know the feeling re tight months! hopefully this payday shud be slightly easier on my purse. ive gone without luxurys for so long! looking forward to being debt free now! just need to stay focused! xxx

  • Well... definitely not pregnant despite what I thought. Hence, my drinking of the old NZ sauvignon tonight... Maybe just as well really as I really would be getting 20 questions for not drinking at my work's Christmas do. Anyway, disappointing, but maybe just as well at the moment as SOOOO busy at the moment...

Been generally plodding along with moneysaving stuff. Nothing spectular, mainly consisting of not going out and eating beans on toast and such like...

But, two biggies will be adding to our debt soon. the first is OH's course fees for the year (£1500 - eek!). Sadly, will need to wack this on the credit card (oh no!). Luckily, work will reimburse him at some point but hopefully it's sooner rather than later - fingers crossed. Secondly, I am borrowing £8k off my parents for my business. However, I don't need to start repaying this until the business is properly off the ground, which is great news. Totally touched by their generosity (feel bad for all my not so generous thoughts towards them in my teenage years now!).

So, what does this mean? Well, we'll be more in debt. In fact, we'll go back to where we were when I first started this DFW journey.

BUT, I'm not feeling negative about it... If I'd blown it on a car or some frippery, I guess I'd feel alot different.

Right, off to bed now...sweet dreams!

sorry about your not pregnant news, but just think you can keep trying for longer :)
great news about being able to start up the business so quickly, it feels like you mentioned it only a month ago for the first time and now it's a viable option, i wonder how many times that happens.
