Ive had a text from Unity, their back and her facet joint injections have been done, shes got to go back for an epidural though, Im sure she'll be back on to update everyone.

Hi all, I am indeed back - suitably tanned despite the factor 50  - due to not seeing a cloud for the whole week :j. It was a lovely, relaxed and laid back holiday, very hot - but we still managed to get into Lindos and Rhodes (Old Town). We met some lovely people, including a family from our area who we are meeting up with - since they drink in a pub within staggering distance from our house! :rotfl:

cwta welcome home hun, do you think next year you and Unity could not go away at the same time please, Ive had the week from hell and both of my agony aunts were away  :D We're over the worse now though and Im trying to loosen up all the tight muscles that Ive ended up with.
Im so glad you are both back and that you had a lovely holiday, thankyou for the postcard, it looks like a tropical beach.

I got taken round town in my chariot this morning, I wasnt going to buy anything, but fell in love with some purple suede ankle boots which I couldnt live without  one good thing about autumn/winter is the chance to wear boots again :j
Hope you all have a good weekend x

Sorry Suep, I will certainly coordinate my holidays with CWTA for next year, so that we are away at different times :D. Mind you, it's strange that "the powers that be" should choose a time when CWTA and I are away to start a new thread:rolleyes:. I did wonder if I was in a fashion forum with all the talk of weddings and handbags :rotfl:. We only sent one postcard, but I thought the text with the pic stood more chance of getting there:D.
sue thanks, i thought it was the 2osomethingth she was having it done but wasnt sure when she came home form hols. hope she is recovering fine from both holiday and injections :)
those boots sound wonderful, purple is good.

Hi PCL - We got back to our house at around 3.30 a.m. yesterday and by 1 p.m. I was gowned up ready for the facet joint injections:eek:. I am glad in a way that it happened like this as I didn't have the time to think about it and I was too exhausted to worry :D.

It wasn't my normal surgeon, but he was a lovely man, really put me at my ease and went through everything, showing me what he was doing on the x-ray screen which he positioned right by my head. When he saw the x-ray, he pointed out some developments in my spine and told me what he would like to do as he felt there was more work needed. He asked if I was agreeable and completely re-did the consent form there and then in the theatre. As a result I didn't get the transforaminal epidural (for my sciatic nerve) done, so I'll have to find out about that when I phone in a week to let them know whether this has worked. At present I am still really sore with strange sensations in my legs that I didn't have last time - although it probably looks worse than it is (pretty bruised). I'm under strict instructions to rest up as I've been told in no uncertain terms that it will get much worse before it feels better :o. I'd love to say it only hurts when I laugh - but it's more like when I move :(. Onwards and upwards though ;).
Some people hear voices, some see invisible people. Others have no imagination whatsoever :D

Ye gods and little fishes, BZ that still looks like one long list!
Agreed!!! Thankfully I managed to find some balloons today in the right purpley colour (so just need ivory ones and balloon weights now for that bit), ordered the ties (hurrah!!) and picked out two diff papers I like the look of that have a sort of metallicy sheen for the inserts of the Order of Services. Me and DF have to pick between them (or go for diff paper altogether:rolleyes:) now. Want to get them printed this week so friend can chop them down on Monday and I can finish them hopefully by next weekend.

I had my hair cut and re-highlighted (and greys dyed :shhh:) today...I'm a lot blonder than I was before, but I'm sure it'll settle down by the wedding.:o

Also bought some (what t'other B2B calls) "Fat Pants" today from Matalan for £8 and look to be much more what I'm after than the £30+ ones I got from M&S (that have a tendency to roll up the legs and down the belly:rolleyes:). The Matalan ones seem to be much more sensible about putting proper wide elastic at the bottom of the leg bits so they shouldn't roll up, and they come higher up the waist to the most narrow bit, so shouldn't roll down. They feel comfier and are much cheaper too! Bonus! So now, with the approval given re bra from seamstress doing my dress and the "fat pants" in my possession, that should be the underwear done. Might buy something slinky for the wedding night tho ;)
bz a lot of that can be done while pottering at home though..at least i hope so....our getting there though, its a lot shorter than it was :)
Agreed. I'm thinking that once I have the ivory balloons and balloon weights, Order of Service paper picked out for definite, hair grips gotten, ties picked up (next week), shawl/wrap/bolero bought, replacement veil picked up (fingers crossed) and dress fittings done...that *should* be my running round pretty much done. Or at least shopping/searching done. Thankfully! :o

BZ- all will come together-try to take some short rests -take yourself to your bedroom for calm time and then face world again-meant to help but no guarentees!
T'other B2B is back at work 4 days a week now that her cast has come off, so I tend to leave all the running round shops thing til I can go with her (for company as much as anything) so that should, in theory, leave me with 3 "rest" days a week now...

  • 'ow do all. Am finally back on mainland after a long, bouncy ship back.
Too tired to update properly at the moment, but wanted to say hi.

bz I did follow the nasty manageress saga even if I couldn't post, so am glad you finally have your sticky hands on your dress. I've been willing you on from afar! Magic knickers are goooooooood *g*

sue I consider myself well and told off at going away at the same time as unity, but do feel I have to point out that I booked it first *g*
Hugs to help you get over the horrid week you've had.

unity Glad the injection is finally done and hope you find some relief soon. Pleased you enjoyed holiday and had some rest.

pcl How's the little Whitney puddy tat? And more to the point, how are you doing?!

lw Riding didn't happen as they had no mounting block and my leg doesn't bend enough for a leg up (unless the man is very nice indeed *g*). Someone also pointed out that we may not have been covered by their insurance as we are not able bodied and it could be considered an "extreme sport" for us *g*

sharon Way to go on the handbag!!! It's the Tula ones I like bestest. You still have your "L" plates on for shopping though, as you didn't get at least shoes to match *g* Hope you enjoy the handbag.

black paw Your wedding shop breakout to get bz's dress made the LOL lots!

Anyone I haven't mentioned by name, not ignoring you. I won't be properly conscious for several days I suspect and will re-read and catch up properly with everyone then. Already planning a similar trip with s/e next year as it worked so well.
Major hugs to you al - I've missed you lot!
I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to break :D

:eek:Sticky hands?!?! On my dress?! ARE YOU INSANE?!?! I've even engineered the buffet choices so there is the least possible chance of stickyness!!! The very idea makes me positively queasy!!!

DF appears to be jealous of the fat pants/magic knickers option....esp as he is now thinking about how to get in his suit....:rotfl:

  • bz a couple of washes will have the hair settled down for the day, well done on balloons and paper and underwear :)

sharon how considerate of your daughter thinking ahead like that. it must be so hard for you all.

    unity and cwta
it is good to have you both back and im pleased you all had a good time away.
hope the pain settles downasap unity, follow orders and do rest up well.
cwta thats a shame about the horse riding, maybe next time they will have both a mounting block and insurance that covers :)

i have somehow managed to set my wrists off, last time they hurt this badly was because i had daftly tried to clean the windows. one at a time i understand when i have forgotten to not lean on them or something but no idea what i have done this week to make both of them hurt at the same time.

whitney is building up to going to the vets again, i fed her nothing but chicken and treats (did i mention i found a cat treat she likes enough to ask for after many years of trying?) for the last two days and she isnt being sick yet, vets are open today and tomorrow otherwise i would have taken her yesterday anyway, but if she can hold of its got to be better for her. i have noticed though that her teeth seem to be bothering her, she is only eating on one side of her mouth. that might explain the glares she has been giving me, if looks could kill....
  • bz i was just about to ask what you were doing up so early when i spotted your next post explaining. soon be all done and you wont know what to do with yourself and your time.

I'm currently trying to distract myself/tired my eyes out enough to go back to sleep by doing those nonogram puzzle things atm...
I have consoled myself with the old "2 weeks between a bad haircut and a good haircut" and I must like it when it's settled down because I had the same done last time. It's just a shock when you see it so blonde to begin with I think.
