    Sky don't pass on your details. How many times have you or your spouse filled out a questionnaire in the street, on an aeroplane or at home, which asks "Do you receive Sky through a Dish or Cable?"

    I bet one of you has!
    This question is sneaked into so many "consumer surveys" - especially on your return from holiday - that you don't even realise you are ticking the box.

    So they know exactly when the first year is up from some obscure survey?

    I don't think so.

    Oh and how do you know for certain that Sky do not pass on details?

    I suspect that they do, or possibly their staff do.

    Exactly the same for myself and my mother. She was getting calls from a 3rd part advising that her warranty was about to expire and she needed to purchase an extended 12 month warranty within the next few days.

    What was strange was she was getting these phone calls after only 8 months of her contract. Sky refused to discuss the warranty company when i phoned about it but the 3rd party still call my mother and hassle her to getting this warranty.

    Surely there is nowhere else these people could get this sky subscription and upcoming warranty needs from????
  • Don't pay for a warranty!

    I have had to have sky out to replace my sky+ box 3 times since warranty ran out each time they try charging me £65 so I tell tham to cancel and I will go to Virgin or BT so they drop it to £32.50 which I again refuse they have always then said 'Well just this once we will send the engineer for free' route.

    I even got a brand new box this time rather than the usual reconditioned they usually try and palm you off with.
    :D:rolleyes:;):cool::o:rolleyes:;):o:o:cool:
