Are merecedes drivers the worst at parking?

All the debate about disabled and parent & toddler spacers wouldn't matter a jot to this guy.

  • That looks like a CND logo or Sikh emblem on the left of the number plate to me...

I think the owner of that car was ever served with a lawsuit for that poor parking (and I could do a better parking job than them, and I don't drive), they'd be able to afford the penalties anyway. They could probably write off the financial penalties as business expenses as well since they drive a Merc.

Mind you, around me, there are some really bad drivers and parkers in all sorts of makes and models of car.

Agree - supermarkets and the like tend to produce tiny parking places so they can cram as many in as possible, with the inevitable result that doors will get dinked.

The driver of the merc has obviously taken the risk of damage into consideration and has thought through how the vehicle should be parked to avoid damage occurring, rather than just blindly wellying it into the most convenient parking bay and whinging when there is a huge dent in the door on return. This therefore in my eyes makes them a better driver - albeit perhaps more selfish - depends how full the car park is.

If he or she had parked within the bays, then he or she would have needed a can opener to get into the car given the position of the maroon people carrier parked in the adjacent bay - its not even straight! Thats bad parking.
  • That pic just about sums it up nicely, at least they've reversed into the space(s)!

I have a friend who drives a small banger who will park next to any car parked like that.

You get this problem in older multistory car-parks where the position of the spaces is determined by the concrete pillars. When those car-parks were built the average car was much smaller. Apart from, say, having just two spaces between each pillar instead of three, there is not much that can be done. If those spaces were altered then you drastically reduce the capacity of the car-park.

Have you also noticed that it is mainly Mercs and BMWs that don't have hands-free phones (apart from white vans of course !) ?

Looks like the Sikh emblem to me rather than CND. Thought such embellishments weren't allowed on number plates? Probably crossing my wires with something else though.

The car on left lhs taken up more than his space which is just as annoying so when you come to park assuming the car on left was there first you then have to encroach onto rhs too although he/she is obviously taken up a lot of space

I find 4x4's the worse offenders in fact I try and avoid parking near them where possible because they take up more space and they tend to have the doors higher up so more likely to get above the plastic trim around my car and dint the metal work

I tend to park at far end of any shop so as to avoid morons

Talk about park it like you stole it. People like that really get on my nerves and I have been known in the past to tell the customer services about it so they also have the embarrassment of having their car reg blurted out over the tannoy
