  • Being a Mercedes driver, I'd say no, we aren't the worst at parking - surely that's BMW drivers' claim to fame :)

People carriers are usually parked much worse than that, especially those ugly fiats that look like a deformed dolphin, parked is probably the wrong word, abandoned is more like it.

It probably isn't the case here but sometimes people have to park based on how the cars already in the car park are parked. If a car is parked badly and you are forced to park at a slant or across the white line because of that then, when that original car leaves, it can look like it is you that is parked badly.
For this reason I never pass comment unless i actually witness someone parking badly all on their own. Plus it looks like this Merc owner has left enough room in front of them for you to park sideways across the spaces.

i wonder how they would feel if they knew you had posted their car on here without blanking out the reg number.

And yes, i agree that its not completly right what they have done.....BUT, if the carpark is NOT full, then who really cares. I mean honestly! They are just protecting their car from being marked by, well, probably the people in the people carrier.

Here's the senario. Mum parks badly at an angle in space (as in picture). No-one else can park next to them as they are at an angle. Someone eventually squeezes in. However, when the mum comes back and puts the kids into the baby chair in the back seat....oops, her large a**e slams her door into the car next too it. "oh well she say" and calmy drives off leaving a nice scratch/dent in the other persons car.

Have seen it soooo many times and THAT really is something to shout about.

In a full car park I think cars who park like that are more likely to be
    vandalised though...

Agree - supermarkets and the like tend to produce tiny parking places so they can cram as many in as possible.

Supermarkets can't just cram in as many as possible, they have to stick to Planning Policy Guidelines and Local Authority Parking Standards.

Doubt that you do need permission - but I don't approve that they haven't blanked out the number plate. Think that is poor judgement by the OP.

I don't think so. The driver has decided to make a tit of himself in public and shouldn't be surprised if people feel the need to shame him. Would you expect the media to blur out faces a omit names from reports?
I would be outraged if anyone posted a picture of my car showing the number plate on a a public forum.
Unless you're not doing something you'd feel embarassed about why would you be outraged?

Posting a photo on a public forum of someone's numberplate - not cool. Do you have owner's permission?

That car has half a wheel over the line on a large and deserted car park. I don't know why you would feel compelled to take a photo of that.

I know a family who have 2 old Mercedes and they are both always parked terribly. It was quite spooky reading the title of this thread because my DH always says he has never seen cars parked so badly as these.

They just stop the engines & get out and make no attempt to back up or use as little space as possible. The are never, ever in a straight line, preferring to park diagonally or with the front bumper sticking out in the road and about 6 ft of space at the back.:D:D
