Eon FixOnline 3 - what is the breakdown?

Can anyone tell me the price breakdown for Eon FixOnline 3 please?
Hi *onlyme*
Looks like there has been some good advise already on this, the unit costs and discounts do vary depending on region, you can find this info on a comparison site or on E.ON's website or just give us a call.
qxt123, from your post I understood it that you would me moving house, not requesting to change supplier, therefore, your account can be closed on the day that you move.
We will just need the date, final meter readings and your forwarding address and just a note to remember, if you are moving in to a property supplied by E.ON or you request to take your supply to your new address, you will not lose the discount on the final bill.
Hope this clarifies things a bit.
carmine, just to let you know that at least 3 of the switching sites do advise that we don't give discount on final bills, this can be seen when looking at the tariff information or by clicking the T&C box, I am still trying to find out why a couple of the sites don't mention this.

The question is, is it worth fixing your prices yet?
My gut instinct is that energy prices will fall and E-on know this, hence why they are offering a Fixed rate that tops all of the comparison charts.
I know £30 is not that much to get out of the contract, but I would prefer to go to either EDF's Online Energy v5.1 or E-on's Save Online v1, this way when the prices go down you will benefit again.

£30???
£30 PLUS up to 18.9% of your bill. So that could be a leaving penalty of £150 or more!!!0 -
Hi MoneyMiser :hello:
This is always the decision to make, fix or not, we just don't know what will happen to prices in the future.
But as you have said there is always other options to choose, so you don't have to tie yourself in if you don't want to.

How is it £30 plus 18.9%???
If you are talking about how the final bill does not include the discount, then surely you can pay any outstanding amount before you arrange to leave making sure your final bill is in credit??

But the last bill will be calculated with no discount no matter what you've paid/overpaid before...won't it? Eon rep care to clarify this one? Eon bill every quarter so worst case scenario is you get a full quarter's final bill without the huge discount. Best case scenario is you manage to leave on the very last day of the quarter. Real case scenario is obviously going to be any time between these 2 scenarios. Good luck is all I can say. Now they also seem to be chucking in an exit fee in addition. Nice work if you can get it...
PS There's actually an EVEN WORSE worst case scenario, as detailed by Premier here:
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=24160173&postcount=7tried that when I left them.
They convieniently tried to charge me an exhorbitant amount based of a completely wrong estimated reading.
So, as one does, I contacted them with a correct customer reading and expected a revised bill accordingly.
No, they said they would cancel the bill they had just sent and combine the amount owed into the final bill they would produce following the switch.
Sneaky...bill covering approximately 4.5 months and no discounts.
That (and another issue) means I would be unlikely to ever go back to E.On despite their letters often asking me to consider going back. I've a very long memoryCall me Carmine....
HAVE YOU SEEN QUENTIN'S CASHBACK CARD??0 -
Hi Carmine,
As discount is given on charges, payments and balances aren’t relevant, a final bill will be produced containing charges and these won't receive any discount.

Hi Helena,
Thanks for the reply (and you carmine).
So when the time comes to move out I'll just inform you with enough notice (how much?) of the move out date and my account closed on that day? If so, I dont see how the 'no discount' clause will affect those in a similar position to mine wrt closing account and not switching. I think I move out a few days after my bill comes through, so not much of a discount lost. I hope EOn won't delay that final quarter bill though!0 -
Hi qxt123,
It's best to let us know about a week before you move out, you will also need to call on the day or day after the move to give the final meter readings.
We will then close your account to your readings and your bill will be sent to your new address or sent online (if you have an online account)
As you say you move out a couple of days after your quarterly bill, you will only lose a few days discount.
Hope this helps.

Below is what Eon are showing in their FAQ. Your final bill may well be paid by direct debit. Is there something else in the T&C that prevents this applying to all bills including a final bill?
Are there any discounts for paying by Direct Debit?
Paying by fixed monthly Direct Debit will give you 6%* discount off your bills if you're a single fuel customer. Take gas and electricity with E.ON and pay by fixed monthly Direct Debit for both products, and we'll give you a total discount of 8%.*
* Discounts quoted are for standard gas and electricity products. Customers on some of our restricted hour tariffs such as E10 may not get these discounts as they are reflected in the pricing structure of the product.0
