Yes lets hope there are many more to follow! I won't actually believe it until the cheque is in my hand!
Does anyone know how the ppi payment works out? for example, am i right in thinking that even if you only paid into the ppi for a few years that they add it onto the end of then when you settle early anyway? therefore meaning the whole amount has been paid for PPI? does that mean you get it all back again? I never actually thought about amounts before..... x0 -

Yes that's right thunders. Our PPI was £8875 and we got back £9800 or thereabouts
We rcd Full PPI amount, plus payments we had made towards the PPI (30payments for us).
we were paid the first £2000 then 90% of the remainder which amounted to cheque for £9800:D:D. The ppi is added to the loan, so it is then up to you to decide whether to pay it off the loan or whatever suits your needs. We had managed to remortgage and pay off the Picture loan, at a lot cheaper rate of interest. It suited us best to pay off credit card and a few other bits and also have a few treats.

Thats made my day now too! :j Our PPI was for £9300 and we settled after about 18 months I think. Like you we remortgaged so don't have the loan to pay off. Instead we intend to clear other credit accounts.0 -

Hi thunders, this wasn't actually my debt, but my daughter and her husband. It was awful to see them so stressed and I was so worried about them,and I just took it over for them with regards to the claim. etc. . Don't think they could have coped with the added stress of claiming
The relief now is immense and they say the best thing they did was to rid themselves of the credit card, and also the loan with Picture. It is unbelieveable just how much can be saved in interest with the remortgage. I am not sure about Halifax as I have only dealt with Picture, but there will be someone on the other thread who i'm sure will be able t help.
