Sorry having probs with the site...

Yes I would first go to Chatwins like their complaints procedure says. It all depends on if they want someone investigating further:rolleyes::D
I have written the Resolution Form out addressed to Graham Hall at Chatwins as stated in you link - will wait and see what they come back with. Thinking on it though - obviously Solicitors can charge whatever they please. If my claim had been worth say £4000 i would have to pay them £1200 plu VAT for doing exactly the same as they have done - why should amount of award make a difference!!!!!

I am glad you have gone about this as they state and you now give them 14 days don't you?? If they state that they are within their rights then you can take this further and i would say you have a damn good chance of winning. You should have signed for this 30% and you did not and were not given a choice. They cannot justify this and I would say they would not want the bad publicity either. They are no better than the firms we are claiming from in my book.

Think you are right, marshallka. Lynnie does appear to have a good case here, and thanks to the links you posted. i'm sure she will be ok now. Just a metter of being patience. I think once they get her complaint form they should think twice about it. As she says, she did not sign for anything. Don't think they have a leg to stand on.

And yes, they are just as bad as Picture

i think they are just as bad as Picture also. Even the guy at fscs thought it was shocking, even though they couldn't help, said that they were set up to help people like oursleves who had been duped by companies like Picture, not the likes of Chatwins. Didn't think money should be hi-jacked by them, and agreed the rate they were charging was extortionate.:o:o

The way I see it blakeney is yes, you getb the PPi amount back and the interest you have paid on that amount. As you say you did not recevie any NCB, so that won't be an issue for you.
I think they will deduct an amount as Ins Premium rebate. An amount you would get if you chose to cancel the Insurance.
So you should do quite well out of this, I would think.
Don't forget they deduct 10% of amount after the first £2000 of your claim.

How many payments have you made on the loan
