As for Insurance policies, mortgages and pensions I know they do get a good commission.
Oh I know busbyh. They do get good commissions. There are lots of jobs that earn commission. The thing with commission is proving someone is earning it and if they disclose it then fine and you know, but if not then they have more of an interest in getting you to sign on the dotted line than "your" interests. Its proving it though. Very difficult sometimes.

I have no idea. There are so many different types of financial advisors. Some advise on things like loans, some mortgages, some investments, some insurance etc etc etc. I would never use an advisor again (only had one once when we bought the house) but its all for personal gain I think cause they all make something out of you from things. Citizens advise offer the service for free if you are in serious debts. I think you only need them if you have a lot of money or not a lot of money. :D

Well in that case we all need them on here because we've not a lot of money:D:D:D

If someone is helping you out that is good. I don't mean that. I just mean financial advisors must get something out of it. You yourself were on about commissions today and posted with angry tags when you thought about it. We did not know anything about these did we until the SAR?? It was only then that we got to know that these people that say "they are helping you out" were actually sharking you in another way. ;)

Great that if you have someone helping you. Its nice to be able to trust and yours is someone you know too. Its those that you don't know that you have to worry about.

I assumed you were referring to somebody on the site who was helping us out, and if that was the case there wouldn't be any financial gain as he/she does not know who we are. it would just be advice, nothing more

If its just advice then its mostly posted on here for all to see and for free.;) You offer advice and me too. I certainly could not recommend anyone for a service though as I do not know anyone personally for that and I doubt it would be within the forum rules. Most things are discussed openly anyway.;)
