    Hi All,

This really is turning into a marathon!

I have just e-mailed the FSCS today requesting a claim form and was wondering wether anybody knows how long it might take to recieve this from them?

Also can anybody confirm how straight forward the form is?

I am hoping by the time any claim I may have that most of you might have had your final answers back from the FSCS. I am guessing it may take any thing upto 18 months from now starting with a new claim?

    Good luck to everyone.

    Regards,

I doubt it will take 18 months from start to finish. The hold up for the claimers already has been declaring picture in default and now they are I would think it will work quicker than that even for new claimers. FOS are taking 18 months but the FSCS is said to be quicker.

I would also all of you get complaints to the FSA as the rules for compensation state "financial loss" on the FSCS and if they repay without the 8% statutory they are not altogether paying the whole financial loss cause you have been deprived of using the money you have paid each month for the PPI to whatever you wanted. If you had not been paying this PPI you could have had more money at YOUR disposal - hence financial loss. I would argue it.

Will try to get something together and send it to them
    Thanks for advice

I cannot see them not paying it though:confused:. Has anyone confirmed this before? They cannot argue that it is still financial loss, I know they do not pay for stress etc but they say they do for anything financial that is lost. You have all lost use of YOUR own money. You could have invested it somewhere.

    Hi Longword,;)

If I remember correctly the form was not actually that bad.

Think it had taken approx a week or a little more to receive the form after requesting this, what we did was ring them at first, tell them about the company were were hoping to make a claim, they then check them out to see if they were listed (as you know in your case they are) lol but a procedure to them then, and with us they then said to email them for a form.

My form (in regards of another company who are still currently waiting to go into default) has been with them for over a year, however I have the first ref number of the claim.

Good luck and when you receive your form, check it through, if you get stuck on anything, post up.;) Yours should not take 18 months though as they are already in default which helps X

If my memory is coreect, I think I only waited a few days for the form. I contacted them late August. I completed it and they received it 12th September.

I didn't think it was to complex. Just give as much info as you can and send photocopies of everything you have regarding. Don't forget to record it.

I sent our special delivery (guaranteed next day) cost £5 but was worth it to ensure it had been received and it was also easy to track with Royal Mail.

    Good Luck.

Don't think you will be waiting 18 months - hope not;)

OK, just rung the FSCS and they definitely dont add the 8% and only return the premiums already paid . The man I spoke to did not know who restructured the loans probably the people we are paying at the moment.

I am not too bothered about the 8% as I am just grateful that my loan was after January 2005 and I have a chance of making a claim and getting something back.
I pity the poor people who may have taken out a loan earlier and have no way of getting their money back.

I've not heard a thing....I'm going to assume that no news is good news and that the only reason they would need to contact me is if they needed some information from me.

I would imagine that there is a warning sign on my file that says I go bleating to MP's and Cheif Execs if I don't get my own way and that I should be avoided...:D

I'm lucky...whilst I'm struggling I'm not facing reposession like some so I don't want to jump in front of the likes of Dialysis. I will play a waiting game and see what happens.
