When I spoke to Deloittes today I did get the impression that the people who had said they were in Financial difficulty had been moved up in the queue along with those who have claims from July / August 2008.
She said if I was in Financial difficulty just to write in and let them know, I said its ok Im hoping to be near the front anyway and she said it would appear I was one of the older cases.DS1 12/10/04

Just found this and I think that the FSCS will calculate the same as FOS does (in that its actual FINANCIAL loss and not the full amount that you WOULD have been charged) Actual financial loss is money you have actually already been charged I would think. It says here
Will there be any difference to the amount of any
compensation I may receive, depending on which
organisation looks at my complaint/claim?
Wherever possible, the Financial Ombudsman Service and the Financial Services Compensation Scheme will calculate any redress due to you in the same way. However, because each organisation has different objectives, their approach to redress can sometimes differ. For example, the Financial Ombudsman Service has explicit power to order a
firm to pay for “distress and inconvenience”. The Financial Services Compensation Scheme can only pay compensation for actual financial loss.0 -

ALso says this on money made clear
How much compensation could I get?
Different rules and compensation limits apply depending on what the claim is for. The FSCS cannot always cover 100% of your loss. If you owe money to the failed firm (for example loans, mortgage or credit card debts), these will be taken into account before any compensation is paid. For details, see the FSCS website.
They surely cannot take it back against the loans as that would not be treating you fairly and this would mean that they have actually been allowed to rake in their money sooner from ripping you off in the first place.0 -
No dialysis, no indication on how long, I believe it is the data gathering from Picture that is happening now and how long it takes to get back to them to work on. From experience they have been told to give no timescale so there is no comebacks, which is why I am surprised that the FSCS mentioned some payments in August. But has been said probably to other companies.DS1 12/10/04

Thats good they both work in the same way but it seems a little unfair that the FSCS cant pay for distress etc when it wasnt our fault that the claims had to go to them in the first place:mad:
Or pay the 8%
Thank goodness the fscs have confirmed any money comes to us.DS1 12/10/04
