If being messed about by a screamer the first time you used ebay has put you off using ebay again, then just do nothing and forget about the whole thing.

A scammer ? A collector buys a record that they don't think is good enough , seller opens an NPB on them  and yet buyer is at fault...goodness, that's a lot of assumptions.

A proper collector as he sounds like as he asked about inserts etc before he bid would only want something perfect.

Compare your £3.50 offer with the cost he faces to return it for a full refund, which will be approx £1.51. 76p postage and 75p recorded and you can see why he is probably not happy.

The problem now is that ebay makes more money from unhappy customers, than happy ones.

Thus all buyers are encouraged to complain over the trivial and demand refunds on £1 items.

A screamer not a scammer (should have gone to specsavers).

Only a true screamer whould whine about a record that cost 99p.

    HTH.

Maybe buyer expects to be able to return item for a full refund as it is not as he expected it to be? I am always unhappy with partial refunds, someone either wants the item or they do not..so offer a full refund and don't let buyers dictate terms to you. Also, I still can't fathom out why the nPB was started?

Because seller is a newbie and could not believe someone would make a fuss over a 99p record?

It isn't a 99p record, it is a £6.99 record. Or that is what we are supposed to be seeing isn't it if postage is just included as part of the item cost?

You buy a 20 year old record off ebay for 99p, plus postage (paypal scares people into using tracked post - more money for paypal) and when it turns out not to be mint you whine?

    Would you be like that??

Am I going mental? I seem to remember a post on this thread TELLING OP to open a NPB dispute.

Perhaps it has been guiltily deleted...
    My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j

Thats just a silly opinion with no basis,

The OP has done some things wrong when dealling with this case. I'm not sure what post FF saw (telling her to open a NPB dispute) but I cant remember seeing it. But that what newish ebay sellers seem to do not check the procedures before tey do something. I hope the OP has learnt about better ways to deal with complaints and will move forward learning from this experience.

I agree with Soolin as regards partial refunds. They either want it or they dont.

Seen as on every topic that people have been complaining about overcharging postage and certain forum members have told them that the postage cost should be viewed as part of the overall cost, i would have to agree that in that case they are unhappy as they have paid 6.99 for an item and not 99p!

Or are some people all about double standards!
