they are 85p each, and for the 3 with postage it was £4.05, from elemental beauty. the samples are a spot on match to the photos on the website too! the samples will last about a week or so, so if you didnt want to spend out on a big size if you think you wont use it all... ;)

I found watching youtube tutorials really helpful. I think the best was: http://www.youtube.com/user/pixiwoo
They are two sisters and they do all kinds of demos and teach you how to blend your eyeshadow professionally etc

On my wedding day I used MAC eyeshadows. I bought three and have used them loads since I got married and have hardly worn them down at all. If you are going to buy expensive shadows just for your wedding day I would make sure you go for something along the same lines you already wear, like neutrals, as then you won't be wasting your money on colours you don't normally wear. I thin the most usual look for bridal makeup is a classic smokey eye but not too dark or dramatic! lol

This is what I did with the eyeshadows. I used Mac All That Glitters (lightest colour)all over the lid. Mac Wedge (medium colour) blended in the crease and Mac Espresso (darkest colour) for a bit more definition in the crease and also doubled it up as an eyeliner as it's much darker when used wet.
I also used some beautiful false lashes but made sure they were not too long and fake looking! They can look really lovely and Boots have a great variety.
The Body Shop do fab brushes and easily rival the super expensive Mac brushes ( I have tested both) also art shops do some nice brushes very cheaply that are great as makeup brushes because it really does make a huge difference when you apply shadow with a brush rather than those little pointy sponges.

Ok, I'm going to stop now lol!

  • I have been watching the tutorials by Pixiwoo and they are absolutely fab, definitely very comprehensive and easy to follow. In the end I have caved in to the cheap prices of Avon lol. I have ordered a blush, some bronzing pearls and the kabuki brush, spectra colour lipstick in the browns, (I think), and the mousse eyeshadow in a stick called velvet taupe. I am still going to get either a smash box primer or the clarins spray on make up fixer not sure which one yet!

Thanks so much for all your help girls and I hope this thread becomes a source for lovely wedding day make up and other people use it to find their wedding make up aswell!

If you're using IE try using Firefox, or check for updates on your browser.

If you see the at the top of your browser page, is there a help button? click on it and see if there is a 'check for updates' clicky.

    I'd just download firefox http://www.mozilla-europe.org/en/firefox/
