  • Hey Rosie, I have an Olive skin tone aswell, and wear a lot of browns and bronzes. Will have a look for the L'oreal studio secrets primer now!

Thanks for the info on the Aldi products aswell. I think I woul feel a bit guilty using such expensive products all the time!

  • Mac is amazing, cant recommend it enough. May not be the cheapest makeup on the scene but some of the bits are just under ten pounds and last for ages so could be used after the wedding - their black pen eyeliner is brilliant. Plus if you go in, they and spend an hour on you an tell you what would be sutiable for a wedding, show you what to do, do a image with all the makeup and colours they have used, then you use the £25 you spent for it back on makeup. Plus if you go on a 10% discount day even better!:j
  • I was seriousy considering a MAC trial but the nearest one is over an hour away so I can't get to do it! Very dissapointing!

Blackpool_saver thanks for the suggestion of the getting a make up lady to come and do it, but I just can't afford it and would rather spend the money on makeup I get to keep!

    The search continues.

Smashbox primer - is fantastic and a lot goes a very long way. It really does keep your foundation and make up in place all day so it is a very good investment. .

Where do you get this one from, its one I would like to try?

I would also like to try the Laura Mercier & Prescriptives one.

Do your research on the web first - those ladies on the makeup counters will try to convince you that you need all sorts. As I mentioned earlier, I had a makeover at SpaceNK. If I'd bought everything that the girl used on me (including makeup removers for both face and eyes at £30 each, moisturiser, primer, foundation at £50, eyeshadow from three different duos, powder, bronzer, eyeliner, mascara, lip pencil, lipstick, not to mention brushes) it would have come to £600! Also, if you don't usually wear makeup - or only use it to conceal shine or blemishes, you'll quickly realise that most of the ladies that do makeovers don't understand the concept of the natural look (even when you make it clear that this is what you want) and will make you look like a Las Vegas showgirl instead. After some of the makeovers I had, I quickly decided I would do my own makeup for my wedding. There are lots of tutorials on Youtube you can watch if you need tips.
