Who says tescos inflate prices and then reduce them again?

Who remembers the special offer a couple of years ago where Tescos "reduced" by 50% five fruit / veg items each week to encourage us to have our five a day?

Another favourite rant of mine is that in multi packs of Ginsters pasties the pasties are SMALLER!!!!!0

Don't get me started about Tesco inflating prices and their rubbish offers............0

I buy bottles of ginger beer @ 67p per bottle, Tesco has offer on bottles of pop '2 for £1.60'. The ginger beer goes up to 80p, when the offer is off the price goes back down to 67p.0

With most offers I always try to work out the per-unit cost from the total e.g. per-cookie cost in this case of the twin pack vs the single pack, tho the cost difference is rather obvious in this one anyway.
I know the supermarkets put this on the shelf edge label most of the time (e.g. £x per YYml, etc) but they usually only do this on the ordinary "non offer" shelf label.0 -
went into Morrisons tonight on the way home - OH said get some peas for sunday lunch - anyway maybe I'm sad as I remeber the prices week in and week out....saw a promo on them buy one get one free -48p ......MMMmmm normally they are only 36p each?
Ok it works out at a decent price, but two weeks ago they were 36p and not 48p!:mad:0 -
Here is one of my favourites from Argos courtesy of Bitterwallet, at least they are honest and tell you in the small print that the sale price is not all that.0 -

maybe theres a reason for that, maybe the first price was £9.99 then it went on special offer to £5.99 and when the offer finished the pen pushers at tesco HO deicded to reduce the normal price for the item0 -
