I did say you seem to agree, but my point is I would hope that you wouldn't know I had a problem and if you saw might think cheeky cow.

can think what I like though, so long as I don't let you know what I'm thnking ;)

Seriously patchwork cat, you are preaching the wrong person. You need to re-read everything I wrote, and you'll see that I am aware of hidden disabilities, and was not advocating public challenges to those using disabled loos, but was instead challenging those who are posting on here about how they abuse the facility to think about how their actions can impact on others in greater need.

However all of this is veering far off topic, and the main thrust of my OP was about how I handled the transition phase with my DS.

Some advice please if anyone has been in this position.

My nearly 3 year old daughter is toilet training and nearly dry in the day, but can still get away with nappies for trips to town on the bus. As a man I really don't want to take her in the public gents which are disgusting at the best of times, but obviously feel the ladies are out of bounds for me.

    Any ideas?

My daughter is 11 and it has been less than a year since i have let her go into public toilets by herself. I'm not talking of any old dirty street toilets though (we don't use those), cafe and shop toilets.

I definitely wouldn't let my 5 year old go in alone.

Yeah, cafe and shop toilets sound the best bet. It's just getting to know all the local ones.
