Paypal - Royal Mail Special Delivery no signature - paypal remove my funds

Options
Hi Guys,

I sold an item on ebay. Posted it by Royal Mail Special Delivery 1pm next day.

6 weeks later paypal open a case against me and take £60 out of my account.

They ask me to provide proof of signature, I provide the Special Delivery tracking number.

Tonight they confirm they have reversed the funds in full as I cannot provide a signature.

Here is what they emailed

"
The transaction(s) did not qualify for Seller Protection due to one or
more of the following reasons:

-You were unable to provide tracking information. For items valued at
the equivalent of $250.00 USD or more, you must include a signature from
the recipient as proof of receipt. Many carrier companies offer these
proof-of-delivery services. Because comparable proof-of-shipment is not
currently available for electronically-delivered items, we are currently
unable to offer Seller Protection for digital goods and other
electronically-delivered item"

Help!

    It says

" Your item with reference ZW0********GB has been delivered.
If the item is being delivered to you at work, and you have not received it, please check with the mailroom or your colleagues.
Sorry, an electronic proof of delivery is not available for this item."

You need to contact RM, SD guarantees a signature. Without that proof Paypal will always refund the buyer. SO you need to find out what is going on
  • same problem here, i need the signiture but royal mail is not very helpful regarding matter, same buyer not recieved the parcel.

Paypal only require a signature proof on items over £150. 'Delivered' is fine for an item of £60, OP needs to remind paypal of that. Meetsingh, what is the value of your item?

This is a serious Royal Mail issue. Special is the service that RM tell us to use for valuable or urgent items and they should be taking more care.

I would start phoning them, harrass them as much as possible, but stay polite, explain that you must have a signature.

Having said that though my laptop sent about 2 years ago never ever got changed stauts wise but mine didn't even track to delivery. I even raised a formal complaint through Postwatch (or whatever they are called) who were very unhelpful and said that either laptop had been delivered (which it had) and RM had therefore fulfilled their obligations, or it was missing and I should claim for loss.

Just set up a claim against royal mail to get your pounds back instead and the delivery charge. This happened to me and it took about 4 weeks for them to process but I did receive all my money back.
They must get a signature on delivery - otherwise what are we paying for?
customer services can send you a claim form or get one form the post office

RM won't pay out for loss when they know they have delivered the item. Also you are required to sigh a claim form to say you are not making a fraudulent claim (or such like), would anyone really be happy to sign that?
