Really annoying as it stores any old programme on to your hard drive receiver. I found it annoying and lacking in content. When buy the hard drive recorder independantly they give you a month free, or it was the case when we had it. Try it if not for you you have a decent( not the best) way of recording Freeview TV. Make sure you phone and cancel before the month is out. They may offer you another free month. They did to us.
We declined even free it was that annoying0 -
Actionman - tiscali TV is similar to BT Vision AFAIK, and depends on a decent BB connection speed. I've seen BT Vision in use and I reckon it looks good, I think it would be a more reliable proposition. What will talktalk do with tiscaly TV now that they've bought them over?0

Hi there,
Not to sound patronising, but have any of you who say you can't have cable called Virgin?
It says on the website that I can only have the one that goes through an existing phone line and I phoned up to get a definitive price, and the woman took my address and they had to do a "survey" (no idea what they did) and it turns out I can get cable in my house.
Maybe worth a quick phone call?0 -
If you're living in a flat, then its unlikely the landlord will let you put up a dish, unless others have in your block.
It is also possible to have a dish indoors facing outwards to pick up Sky I've seen a house not far from me that has done this. Although the effectiveness of this will depend on the double glazing in your windows.
If you have a balcony facing the correct direction, you could mount it to either the balcony itself or use a free standing errr stand!
If you are planning on getting Sky to do the installation I doubt they would comply, so you would have to get this setup installed independantly or by yourself. Lidls did a portable satellite kits designed for caravaning for £60 some time ago that would have been perfect for this kind of setup.
Alternative you could look at streaming TV off the net. Quality can vary, but if you can get fast broadband it will supplement the Freeview nicely. The missus watches her football via the net.
Good luck.0
